she seems to be trying to kill her husband or take everything he has. and also seems that his son does not even care either. this is not the typical drama we are used to what do you think.

I think you're right about the wife trying to kill him and take all of his money but I'm not quite sure that his son knows everything that is going on between his father and stepmother.

I was thinking, "You silly, silly man." How could he have gotten so rich when he doesn't like working? And not reading anything you are signing? She's taking somebody to the cleaners....

Yes, this part doesn't make any sense. How can a man be a successful businessman, but then totally relinquish everything to this woman. No one signs a power of attorney like that because they "don't like to read."
There is something odd about the characterization, almost as if something happened to the husband to make him so childish. Is there supposed to be a pallel between him and the the disabled son? And what will happen when mama hears the disabled guy say, "Mama is bad "?
I feel as if I'm missing something big here.

We're often kept guessing for the first several weeks; remember how long it was until we found out the details about Tae-il's accident in OMR?
I want to know what his current wife has against his first wife.

Well we all know he 's pretty stupid when he was talking to himself yesterday and said (these are his words, not mine) "Of all things to be retarded of, why the head?"

I think that the retarded comment meant that it was worse to be mentally slow than, say, come out with a club foot or something.
I also don't get the "mama is bad" comment. I don't think it has anything to do with him, though; I think that maybe he just saw her do something (kill the wife, yell at her step-son, steal the pants off a husband ... the list could go on) and picked up on it.
I thought it was hilarious how the people at his business deferred to her and not him; when the guy came to visit the hospital and took his cue to leave from her is the incident I noticed.
I'm a guest because the site won't let me sign in ... but I'm registered, I swear!

I think that both Buddahcat and Hachiue are on to something here with the youngest son. On this mornings episode, #5 I think, after the youngest son had gotten a bath from his mother and she was fanning him in his room did anyone else notice that the father had come in the room while he was doing that " I like Dad" etc. stuff and when he said "Mommy is Bad" she shooed him out of the room. I think something is up there and she probably did do something to the 1st wife since she doesn't like to look at Jin-kook (I think that's his name)

Wow! wouldn't that make for an interesting plot.

But I think the disabled son in the second wife's son!
The oldest son (not watched enough shows to know everyone's name!) was talking to him and said "your mother" - and I get the feeling the first wife's been gone a long time. He had been talking about an incident where the younger son had fallen into the river or some water and the second wife blamed it on the first saying he was trying to kill his brother and he (the eldest) got a beating for it. Probably the mom trying to do away with her *mistake* so to speak. Anyway, he (the eldest) kind of laughed after he finished talking, saying "Why am I even talking to you about it!" (It was Friday's epi for me and I think I saw 5 then.)
At any rate, I think part of the 2nd wife's problem is that "her" son is disabled while the first wife's is perfectly healthy. But i know there HAS to be more than that going on...

Yeah their mother has been dead at least since the younger son was a baby. However, if you remember the "flashback" when the older son was in the hospital, he looked like he was at least 6 years old or so. Pretending that he's almost 30 now (giving room for college and for him to have worked at his father's company for a while now), it's been 20-25 years since his mother died.
I was initially confused about this because of the memorial service that was going on during the first episode (I assumed that he had actually been having an affair during the marriage and was scandalized that he married again so soon after!), but I gather that it was an anniversary thing that happens every year. Something that the new wife has got to hate ...

The memorial service is for the deceased.
My MIL was always (or so it seemed) having to prepare memorial services for deceased family members. It's to honor (I think) and remember them and is done every year. I don't know if it's on the anniversary of their death or birthday. (Never asked DH the specifics)
I remember the front door had to be left open to *welcome* them. Everyone was shocked when I closed the door one night (my first service experience! LOL) and they immediately ran and opened it. Probably explained to the ancestors it was the ignorant American! ;-)

Maybe she thinks that the oldest son would get everything, if she were to divorce his father; and end she up with nothing.

Okay, I have a quandary.
Pretend that you are the evil step-mom. You have a) swindled your husband into giving you power of attorney and b) taken all of his money. You have squeezed everything you can out of your husband.
Why on earth is she hanging around? I know, for the storyline, it's so that she can get caught and drama and whatnot (or so I assume). But, power of attorney is pretty binding, so I would think that there wouldn't be a chance of her getting the moolah taken away. And why would she give it back?? The lady is just pushing her luck. Unless, of course, there are other, non-liquid assets that she wants to get her hands on (but wouldn't power of attorney be sufficient for that too?).
Then again, maybe I need to read up on legalities a little more. Perhaps for some reason the power of attorney doesn't kick in for a while or can be overridden or something.
