i'm not sure his character in korean, but since i was watching the mandarin version, his name was known as 'sang shan da ren'. i just want to know if there's any info about him. cause' i surfed in hancinema and koreanwiz.org i couldn't find anything. he's the guy in green in DJG, i find him very nice and fatherly. and was wondering if he acted in any other dramas.
thanks!

no no, i'm not referring to that one. the jo chi bok you are referring to, he's kinda like a clumsy doctor. but the one i'm referring to, he's the elderly man. i think he's the overall in charge of the imperial kitchen. he's the one who helped janggeum tell a lie when she went to the library to steal the emperor's medical journal. and when lady choi asked sir shang shan if janggeum stole the medical journal, he said no such thing.

OHHH!!!!! LOL NOW I GET IT.... his name sounds like "Sang sun young gam" right? He always smiles... that's literally all he does in the drama.. haha... umm He acted in Hur Joon (the series before DJG...) which was a reallyyyy popular drama btw. He acts mostly in historical dramas because of his image

oh talking about the drama 'hur jun', is it any good? cause' i thought of watching. im having withdrawal symptoms of DJG and thought since i like DJG, i will like hur jun too. is there another similar drama call 'sang do'? i keep mixing up 'hur jun' and 'sang do'. they're not the same drama, are they?

Nigella, Hur Jun came out long before DJG. If you watched just HJ without DJG, then you would have really loved it but my feeling is that it may be little bit of a "let down" after DJG since the story line is similar (both medicine). Most people prefer DJG over HJ (also me).
SangDo is about a merchant who trades with China and over coming his rivalies. If I had to rank them, 1. DJG, 2. HJ, 3 SD.
Hope you recover soon. -FC

Well DJG is sort of a medical story, but I think the cooking days were more popular... just my opinion. I think Hur Joon was popular for the adults and not so much to the younger people like teens and children... I think DJG was a drama for all ages because it was really a pure and innocent drama understood by everyone.

i see! yes i agree too, the cooking part is more interesting. in fact the medical part had too many "meetings" and "sabotaging" which i did not enjoy very much. however, i guess i will give hur jun a try, since i'm an adult and might like it.
so u said that sir sung san young gam acts in hur jun too right?
