Dae Jang-Geum would've been Oprah... No kidding aside there are many people out there, the unsung heroes of the world, the true best friends, who with no hidden agenda, only want to do good by the people that surrounds them. Dae Jang-Geum could be any of those people. Although she achieve a great honor by the rank given, she didn't set out to seek fame of reward, she just wanted to do good.

I agree. JG would've been someone great who is just out there only to help others in need and not in search for fame and power.

Anyone can be JG. As long as we have an unselfish and loving heart just like her.
JG is a person we can emulate and get inspiration from.

or maybe JG could have been jailed coz the modern world has so many rules now... the littlest things have punishments.. hehehe... and maybe she could be the main doctor inside the prison cells...

in the drama DJG many people were highly unable to accept JG for so many new ideas. Our society today is even more un-open minded. So, sadly, I think in our society most people will few JG as a lunatic but then years from now they will realize she's right. (kind of like a lot of other great minds: galileo, Da Vinci...etc.)
P.S. there's a JG in each of us, sleeping...it ocasionally awakes to give rise to a wonderful deed.

Well said, Victoria =)
I think - in the modern world we are becoming academically more open to new ideas, but we are getting very cynical - emotionally...less willing to admit our flaws, to love, to face what is true when it makes us vulnerable.
