Hello, Christine and Seoulsearcher. Hello, Eva. (Long-time no-see. I missed you since I left JJH thread.) Yes, as Eva and Lifan said, it's entirely possible to enjoy DJG without loving LYA. Still, it would be more enjoyable ((in fact, a lot more enjoyable) if you did love the lead actress. But it was Kim Hyun-joo's own decision to turn down the role of Janggeum because of previous commitment to another mega-project, "Toji(Land)." And I haven't heard a single word of regret from her about her decision. Well, that's KHJ for you. Christine, your words of praise make me blush. Yes, years ago I did work for a Korean entertainment company (for about five years.) And I have been a globetrotter and have been to many places. I also have many interests. Based on that, I try to be informative and entertaining in my posts. I am very glad to hear that you enjoy my posts. In my next post, I will talk about the rest of principal cast of "Glass Slippers."

I loved KHJ in Miss Kim. She's so honest and cute Haha it would have been a bit weird if LYA played the role ;D

Yes, Kim Hyun-joo was marvelous in "Miss Kim's Adventure in making a million dollars"(2004, SBS). It is probably the best romantic comedy of recently years. It stars KHJ and Ji Jin-hee('DJG"), showcasing both leads' unexpected comic talent. I recommend it highly, along with "Mr Duke." another wonderful romantic comedy, starring Choi Ji-woo("Winter Sonata.")

I really love "Miss Kim's Adventure." I saw this drama primely because of Ji Jin-hee (Well, I am a female.) and found him quite different from Min Jeong-ho, but still delightful. A wacky fun guy. Surprsingly, I found Kim Hyun-joo very likable, too. She is very pretty (prettier than LYA in fact.) Also cute and spunky. There is real chemistry between her and JJH in this drama.

Hey, Kiparang. You said that you don't know who your No. 1 K-actress is right now, Kim Hyun-joo or Son Ye-jin. How is it possible to love two women equally at the same time? We female fans mostly adore only one actor: Ji Jin-hee, Bae Yong-joon, Song Seung-hun, or whoever strikes our fancy at the moment. Is it because you are a man? Jenny

Hello, everybody. Yes, you are right, Seoulsearcher. There is real chemistry between Kim Hyun-joo and Ji Jin-hee in "Miss Kim's Adventure." I sincerely hope that they do another romantic comedy together in the near future. Djanggum, you know, of course, that a great majority of Japanese females (for that matter, quite a number of females of many Asian countries, too) absolutely adore Bae Yong-joon ("Winter Sonata"). His latest conquest: Egypt. I saw a KBS documentary about Korean Wave in Egypt, where "Winter Sonata" and a couple of other K-dramas were broadcast recently. The announcer said that KBS has since been flooded by fan mails from that country. And there were scenes of several Egyptian young women writing Hangeul beautifully and of a couple of them vowing to marry BYJ and converting into a Muslim. Until several years Bae Yong-joon was so convinced of his own mediocrity of talent as an actor that he was biding time, trying to save enough money for studies of film directing in the U.S. And then came "Winter Sonata"(2002), and all hell broke loose. Bae became the biggest star across Asia and within a few years amassed a fortune estimated to be a hundred million US dollars, mostly through huge endorsement deals (according to a recent Washington Post article.) Early this year, he bought a majority stake of a entertainment company. Now, he is a movie mogul, too. ;D

Kiparang, hi. No need to miss me or eva. Just come by and visit us, our thread's open! I feel the same way as seoulsearcher , JJH and KHJ had very good chemistry in Miss Kim, I think much more than LYA and JJH had in DJG. But I guess I already said that moons ago at the beginning of the thread. ;D I'm still looking for Mr. Duke. What did you think of KHJ's performance in 'To marry a Millionaire'?

No thanks, Lifan. I am not going to be a JJH's male groupie again. ;D Come to think of it, I was once a star myself (with groupies.) During my college days. At the most prominent university in Korea, extremely, extremely difficult to get into. There, I was reputed to be a genius, studying five foreign foreign languages at the same time(English, French, German, Latin and Classical Greek) and being excellent at all of them. (exaggerated reputation, of course.) And I had movie-star good looks. (People said that I looked like a certain K-actor who was very popular during 1950s and 1960s.) And I had James Dean-like aura. With slight frown on my forehead and always in deep thought. And once in while showing dazzling smile. Can you imaginge how those brainy girls(some were very good-looking) of that college were absolutely thrilled at the mere sight of me, oohing-aahing about what i said and did on the campus. I was really a prince during those says. I did not see "To Marry a Millionaire" because I absolutely hated Ko Soo(the male lead) in "Green Rose." I wonder how this loutish guy got into show business and star in two big dramas. Is he SBS chairman's illegitimate son or something?

Folks, please forgive me about my previous post. I was trying to have some fun recollecting old days, but I think I was carried away too much. Anyway, it happened so many years ago.
I am also sorry about my remarks about Ko Soo. He was very bad in "Green Rose" but still does not deserve that kind of description.

You are forgiven, Prince. Do you still speak those five languages?

Kiparang knows at least one more language! I don't think Kiparang was going too far overboard with Ko Soo. He looked fine but then he really wasn't an affecting actor. Not like JJH... and we don't oooh and aaah over everything he does! just a little bit. I couldn't even finish the "To Marry A Millionaire". Shame really, the concept was interesting. So, don't buy that series.. or at least if you want to buy it, please just buy it off ME! ;D Anyway, Kiparang, back to KHJ.

Hi Kiparang Ha . . .ha . . ha. . . ;D ;D you are great with what you wrote I am imagining that you were a dream boy, a prince charming of the campus. I really don't have intention to post in these board. . I just love to read the thread but I can't help it when you describe yourself. Ha . . ha.. ha.. ;D ;D with your description I think I'm fallen for you. No wonder why you are jealous w/ JJH (you mentioned this in one of the thread). I know you were just kidding when you said something about Ku Soo I know its bad to make fun on somebody but it makes me laugh. ;D ;D I have Green Rose because of Lee Da Hae now I'm interested to see this because of Ku Soo. I will find out what you don't like about the fellow. You mentioned about Glass Slippers . . so many movies to watch & there's Mr. Duke. I have all these but I am still watching Stairways to Heaven. I am new so I need to see some if not all the movies that everybody has posted here. I am still cramming. I like Son Ye Jin I can't say much about KHJ Hi Djanggum . . why is it that only moms love BYJ? Do you think so? Is it because of his maturity? Just curious. . . I find him nice, he's a good actor too and manages his finances well. . . your kindergarten friend. . . EUN

Hey, Kiparang. It's as if you were a movie star yourself. Look like ladies have fallen hard for you. ;D How about my question whether it is possible to love two stars equally at the same time? Have you completely forgotten about it? Jenny
