It's her first time acting....
I think she's good...
Better than some other actress, first drama and they are like some one long stick.....

i think she did pretty good. it's her first time acting? wow, she really did well for a first time *thumbs up* you have no idea how many new actresses and actors that i've watched on chinese seris *rolls eyes* im not saying they're all bad, but some of them just make me wince evrytime they come on screen.
anyway back to the topic, the Queen really did a great job. she really acts the part of a worried queen and mother, scared that she and her son will come to harm if the King dies. i was so touched by her trust in JG ;D

When first I saw her acting, I tot she was a veteran actress..
But then when I read the news, it's her first time acting...
I was like

She's 35, I think.
I liked her a lot too.
She's very elegant and graceful. Fit for the queen, although the image may be different from the real Queen Munjeong in the history, since she is said to have been one of the most vicious and pernicious women in Korean history.
Considering that this was her first time acting, she did fabulously too. I sure hope she continues acting from time to time.
Just out of interest, she and LYA have been friends for over 10 years.

Yes, she's very impressive.  I'm not actually sure if the young queen wearing the light green costume who appeared in the food competition was supposed to be her. I keep thinking it's not, that's it's actually an earlier wife of Jungjong who gave him a son and daughter. The son became Injong who ruled only a year, followed by the reign of Myeongjong who was Queen Munjeong's son. The Queen became regent as her son was too young. |

She appeared when the princess fell ill and when JG graduated.
After that, Queen Munjeong (Park Jung Sook) popped up.
Something must have happened because the Empress commented that it was time she (Queen Munjeong) took over the running of the palace women.
I don't quite get the political connections. They're rather obscure. The Cui family was so worried that Queen Munjeong beget more sons & even more agitated when Queen Soo-Waen was pregnant. The only thing I can think of is that QM & QS, should they have sons, would give rise to the creation of more factions that would threaten their political hold in the imperium.

His first wife was expelled from the palace 6 days after Jungjong ascended to the throne (so you never got to see her in the drama) because her father was the minister during the reign of Yeonsangun, who was overthrown at the beginning of the drama.
So her father was executed as a traitor, and it would be dangerous for the faction that lead the deposition to put her in the place of the queen.
She didn't die while the plot of Daejanggeum was unfolding.
But the other queen you see in this drama is Jungjong's second wife. She is the one that died after giving birth to a son, later Injong.
And our queen Munjeong is the third wife.
