Well, Friday 5.21.2004. My personal quips and NO spoiler notation.
I though JG kidnapped was a setup as they did not show her being done in. I just 'felt' it when they only held the bottle, as if spies were watching. Plenty to see here IN the kitchen and will probably be disclosed next. Even the burlap herbs are squeezed with. DETAILS. I think that is a thing they will FIX as possible disease causing stuff.
The theme as eliminate causes, followed by the people.
The end of the episode "SHOCKED" me and I do not shock with the soaps. I might have had my tongue hanging out in disbelief! SHOCK! SHOCK!
SHOCK! SKOCK! Almost as if "I": was there with that scene. I do think this soap vs the Thursday AM with "everyone" in royal color clothes sets the Queen off. BAM! SHOCK end.
The coming attractions is what we have been waiting for.

Loved JG's face at the end of the episode after Min brought the news to free the Chois. I hope that expression means JG is done being Ms. Meek and is about to really stand up.
And Keum Young- of all people to bring the notice freeing her, it's Min, but of course in partnership with JG.
Between Ok, the former Head Lady, and the Chois, they're going to tear each other apart. As Lady Choi said, they won't be victimized- they'll bring the others down with them. This will be good...
I'm hoping Lady Min becomes the head Kitchen lady. She'll be very good in that position.

I agree that Lady Min would be a good head kitchen lady, because she has learned so much from Lady Han. (And she's kind of cute about it, too!) But she still seems a little weak in the moral probity department--so eager to get by without being in trouble. Bo

I don't remember noticing a shocked look on JG's face at the end of Saturday's episode--could someone recap that scene for me, please?

I loved her look toward the Chois at the end of Saturday's. . .kind of, "Yeah, I'm letting you go for now, but only because I have the secret evidence that will destroy your clan forever."
I think the clue is that Japanese black pepper. Sir Choi is probably trading with the enemy.

I think the clue is that Japanese black pepper. Sir Choi is probably trading with the enemy. Remember the early episode when Jang Geum saved Mins life after the Japanese assassin threw a knife into him? And then he spent months tracking down the sites on the map the Japanese were using? I bet that comes back as linked to the Choi's.

ARGH! JG looked at the Chois, not as REVENGE is coming, but now she has the QUEEN on her side and SHE knows of the hanky panky while the investigation goes on but the EVIDENCE is on the way to the PO-lice already w/o that. They are all in for a surprise.
You might say it was satisfaction JG got to the KING as the dream of all the little girls and did not get PG in the process.
I think that influence will have to come out in the next few episodes.
Rather than sex w/the the king he trusts his LIFE with ther?
It might be the routine challange JG has where she DOES IT, this time it was DO IT (physically HER vs by accident her doing it) or you were already dead.
Maybe the FIRST time she was to do it ON HER OWN this way?
Remember this stuff is DEEP when not simple minded folks' activity.

FIRST: ...The end of the episode "SHOCKED" me and I do not shock with the soaps. I might have had my tongue hanging out in disbelief! SHOCK! SHOCK!...SHOCK! SKOCK! ...BAM! SHOCK... SECOND: Loved JG's face at the end of the episode after Min brought the news to free the Chois..... THIRD: I don't remember noticing a shocked look on JG's face at the end of Saturday's episode--could someone recap that scene for me, please? Okay, Lucy, I think I see how you got here. Richard was shocked (very much so, apparently, LOL). Walter loved the "look" on JG's face. Lucy wants to know why someone saw a shocked look on JG's face. It's almost like that old "telephone" game where the original phrase gets mangled after being whispered from person to person. Hilarity ensues. She didn't look shocked. She looked superior. Hah, take THAT, you Chois! Bo

My original post was when the queen walked into the room w/JG sitting there. I felt I was SITTING and looking UP at the queen too.
Talk about soap crazy!
Saturday was when JG was loose in the Palace w/misdiagnosis and they were to free Choi pre foot screw torture. DARN!

Maybe this is a naive question, but wouldn't the foot screw torture have caused their feet to fracture (if they were pushed far enough around?) It didn't seem as if their feet were broken the first time, since it appeared that they were to nearly to have it done a second time just as the misdiagnosis was announced by J-G & "her Min". (Or are centuries-old torture methods not savory subjects to discuss on a fan board, even though it was covered in the show?)

...(Or are centuries-old torture methods not savory subjects to discuss on a fan board, even though it was covered in the show?) Absolutely not, FL. Discuss away. I was actually meaning to bring it up myself. Eugh! Yuck! Gross! How did anyone survive being a suspect? I too think it would have fractured their feet. I found it interesting that when they were first applying it, Sir Choi was screaming, Keum-young was groaning a little, and that tough Lady Choi just sat there, not a peep. Guess we know who were the tough ones in THAT family. Bo

Theoretically yes, although I was under the impression it was meant to exert pressure on your entire skeletal frame, as opposed to impacting particular areas for maximum damage--kinda like when you twist the belt around somebody's wait. Then again, I could be wrong! In Yeoin Cheonha/Women's World/Ladies of the Palace, the Joseon-era drama that is a favorite among and has been alluded to by our Korean members--Choko, Sophie, et al--you see more tortures perpetrated by and toward women, such as the notorious cold water torture. Interesting topic, given the times we live in.
