Did anyone else feel like crying when Sir Min saved Jang Geum from the burning room? That was so sweet when he was crying over her and telling her to wake up, and then they hugged. Oh, maybe I'm just a big sap.

I agree, Albie. It's so rare to see straight-out emotion on the Korean shows (at least on the ones I watch). It's nice when Sir Min and Jang-geum twinkle discreetly at each other, but that rescue scene, with the hugging and crying and all, was very, very sweet.

Yes, it is nice when Janggeum comes out from her stoic (can you blame the girl after all she's been through?) state and rests her head on Min's (fully-robed) chest. Everybody say in unison: Aaawww!! Romantic love is alive and well in Dae Janggeum, as opposed to tragic love in OMR, and debauched love in AOW. ;D

This is not like me (hehehe) but it was either wood crackling from the fire or a kiss.

I thought it was a kiss myself. I rewinded the tape to make sure. It's hard to tell. Loved the scene. Very touching and sweet.

I think I'm just going to have to buy this series. I always miss it and never get to watch the re-airings. I just have to kick myself for missing what seems like an exceptional drama.

Of all 3 dramas (AOW, OMR, and DJG), the latter is the one truly worth watching. Janggeum has everything: history, struggle, strife, odious characters, good vs. evil, professional rivalry, catfights, royal cooking, herbal medicine, romantic love, moral lessons, etc. I too wouldn't mind buying the DVD for posterity.
