I rememer Jang-geum's foster mother saying she was pregnant. They skip ahead 2 years, and now no baby! Did I miss something?
Thanks!

That's one of the scenes that was omitted in the evening shows, and appeared in the morning reruns.
Mrs Guang and the baby caught the flu, and the baby died. Mr. Guang told Jang Geum about it when he visited her. He was very sad but Jang Geum told him it was gods will...
Also, Jang Geum asked about Yeum Sung and Lady Min, but he told her that Lady Choi had cancelled his contract to supply the palace, so he doesn't know how they're doing. He assumes they are having a very hard time, and that made Jang Geum sad (and added to her dilemma between the desire for revenge and the duty of a physician to be above such concerns).

It's funny, I am such a newcomer to JG that I hardly know most of the characters' names, but I, too, wondered about that baby. That is, if we are talking about that older couple, the ones who, when the man was going to Jeju-do, his wife started berating him about what was in his luggage and taking stuff out. I thought I remembered that she had been pregnant (which kind of surprised me; she looked too old to me) and was having odd food cravings.

Yes, Mrs Gaung became pregnant after they spent three months eating the so-called "poisonous" ducks, which proved the local legend that they caused old men to have children (I guess women are not necessary LOL). I was really disappointed the writers got rid of the child--I thought the Gaungs would be amusing with a little child of their own. I didn't like that they just used it for a plot device to prove JG and Lady Han innocent.
