When one thinks of Korean food, one thinks of Kim chi. Although there are several other kinds, the one that is most well-known is made with cabbage. Yet, it seems that until Jang-geum, cabbage was an exotic Chinese herb, until she realized it would grow well in Korea.
No small feat to be responsible for your country's national dish!

No doubt so much is fiction but it must relate to what is in any historical records as food/herbs etc. I don't think they could get away faking it all.
The repeat stuff with women is boring but the "cultural" stuff and as the date is addictive.
Sort of the basic scene to a movie "IS IT SOUP YET?". As if soup was something new to them.

The repeat stuff with women is boring but the "cultural" stuff and as the date is addictive.. RichardG, you seem to be saying the scenes between the women are "boring". I have to disagree. This is a series about women's lives at a particular point in history, the whole raison d'etre for it is the scenes between women. I find these scenes fascinating and subtle, well worth watching. Unless I misunderstood you? Bo

Just the opposite. It is facinating but women and the sneaky stuff is the reappearing scenes. Maybe it reminds me of TOO many women like that. It is real and I do not like it. JG has to put up with it and as FEW can manage to outdo by plain ABILITY. What is nice is she needs NO HELP!

Okay, I think you're saying {"reappearing scenes"} that the parts where they remember what someone just said to them while they look off into space are a little boring. I do think they rely on that a little bit too much.
You're right--JG is an amazing character. I can hardly wait to find out what happens after the Chinese ambassador eats the big meal Lady Choi prepared. I'm hoping it'll be another case of Lady C's "Curses! Foiled again!" face. I just watched what I taped this weekend, and it was very very exciting. That guy sure knew how to make a sour face.

The Chinese ambasador looked like he FINISHED the great meal after 3-4 tastes. THAT is what looks like a surprise. Remember he is SICK and probably feels better as maybe even able to BREATH! We don't know how bad it is. Think of severe constipation as pain!
I get FED UP with the EVIL women and their stunts over and over. I can write pages parallel to family and many women I knew from business. THEY CAN NOT DO! JG DOING DOING gets them MORE jealous.

We don't know how bad it is. Think of severe constipation as pain! LOL, Richard, LOL! I was thinking, yeah, now he's been eating properly for 5 days, he can eat a little rich food and feel okay. In fact, I think that's what Lady Choi said after she got kicked out of the kitchen by J-G. (And wasn't THAT a fun scene!) Well, we know she doesn't die, so we'll just have to wait for this weekend. I LIVE for Friday night and it is not to go out!
I still think the show on Fri/Sat is well tuned to keep people out of the crazy scene OUT THERE.
If you notice the news it is USA, much less ethnic safer!
