A tear started in the corner of my eye as JY opened the cannister and started to read all the love notes..........now will MJ actually take her in his arms and say those same things? I fear that will be the start of water works........ something like HR........ but not as much. ;D

I hope he starts telling her he loves her now. That was such a moving scene, and he explained so much. What a couple: she wants to leave him so he doesn't have to give up his family for her, and he has trained himself from a young age not to let her into his heart. Now this is a love story with substance! Forget Hyun-kyu and Hye-ran! Who needs 'em!

I agree with you jenny,I was bored with hye-ran and hyun-kyu a long time ago. yu-jin and min-jae are one of the most interesting couples I have seen in a KDRAMA in a long time. I can not wait for tonites epi. even though I watched the vod 2 days ago,it will be touching.

This is the part I don't get: now MJ's story (and the story that he told Yu-jin after Hye-ran rejected him and they started talking about marrying) is that they have a history because the two families were associated, but he didn't dare love her, repressing his feelings to the point where he didn't even know they were there. This doesn't make any sense to me; why could he care so passionately about HR but put YJ away on a shelf, out of reach? Is it really for the simple reason that he felt so unloved that Yu-jin's early teasing of him made him avoid falling for her romantically, when that's what he really wanted? and so instead he fell for his friend's little sister, who had never been anything but sweet to him? It doesn't ring true to me, and I don't think it's the fault of the acting but the writing. It's a weird thing to claim for a character when you haven't shown it at all.

Lucy I think it's a conbination of things He was afraid to dare to love her since 1) she was always cold to him and 2) years of being made to feel inferior and worthless made him believe that he wasn't worth love. But I disagree that he was so passionate about HR. He knew her for 10 years and was comfortable with her and thought he had a chance because she was always nice to him. However, when he found out the man she liked was HK that was what bothered him most...that it was HK. I think he even said something to that effect. If he had really loved her like he loves YJ, he would have been devastated at losing her, not just angry at losing something else to HK.

Definitely! Min-jae's been listening to Granny for too long. He didn't think he was good enough fro Yu-jin. He felt undeserving. Also wasn't there a mention at some point that Granny wanted to fix Hyun-kyu up with Yu-jin?

If he had really loved her like he loves YJ, he would have been devastated at losing her, not just angry at losing something else to HK. Actually, it goes beyond that...Min-jae first reminisced about this that night (around eps. 49, I think....) when Yu-jin visited his apartment....in a desperate attempt to make it appear like she slept with him....Min-jae finally realized why he fell in love with Hye-ran; he could love her because he knew there would be no outside opposition. But with Yu-jin, she was someone he was not allowed to love because within their social circle, he was looked upon as sort of a pariah...what with Kwei-boon rejecting him and badmouthing him as well, and more importantly, Mal-bong disliking him with a passion!(Any decent guy would feel terrible in that situation.) And to top it all, Min-jae's own mother hardly saying a word in defense of her own flesh and blood. And everyone lavished attention on Hyun-kyu.... Sure, Min-jae was well liked by Dong-pyo and loved by In-hwan, but apparently that didn't count for much when it came to his feelings for Yu-jin....Even when she was warming up to him, he wasn't about to stir up anything knowing he would just get flack from the women folk.....And lest we forget, both Yu-jin and Min-jae almost didn't get married because of Mal-bong's initially strong objections to him......
