This is definitely one Grannie everyone loves to hate. She is also not too slow on the dramatics. The ai-gus are merely the tip of the iceberg, for Grannie is too old to quit the passive-aggressive game and can say things that at the same time elicit sympathy while putting down/criticizing others. One of my fave Granny-isms has to be: "What does it matter, I'm going to die soon anyway!" If only...

This soap has to be the ONE that resembles my family. They are crazy and schitzo. If grannie ain't schizo the rest ARE then.
The girl left behind at the airport should send him a bill and FORGET him. She seems to be the only one with some stability---- hooking onto them to rattle it!
LOOKS like the other son is the one who set the parting all up so HE looks good. He stands there LOOKING GUILTY.
With a whole dysfunctional family it changes every day who is guilty.

The dynamics of family dysfunction being what they are, it definitely means that each and every member of a family is affected by the malady and are all victims and perpretators of wrong-doing at the same time. I definitely agree that the best way for an individual member to address family dysfunction is to say "time out," and extricate themselves from the situation. That is why I am so disappointed that neither Min-jae nor Hyun-kyu took any steps EARLY ON to get away from the unhealthy vibes going on in the Oh household. As for Soon-young, she was too preoccupied with her foremost roles as wife and daughter-in-law to even feel the feet of tyranny trampling upon her.

Same here RichardG. My family totally resembles Min Jae's family! I lived with a psychotic granny who was EXACTLY like mean grannie. A lot of people were just driving me nuts that I had to get out of my house. I never understood how Min Jae could move back in.

Now---- nice TRY but when you are YOUNG you carry the family traditions and attract the same.
UNLESS yuo can get with DIFFERENT people in life who are under responsible authorities. That has been difficult for 20 years but there are some MATURE responsible authorities.
The addiction to things alkie/sex can be noticed by women who marry then maybe couple years later BAM.
Boy I can write a book on example people. Even me YOUNG but not married to that sick end.
