We never talk about her. Is that even her name? I mean the half-sister of MJ and HK. Anyway, spurred on by Bo's comment on the Incredible Growing Ji-hong, I finally am remarking on Eun-ji's maturation after noticing it privately for weeks. She was definitely a tween at the beginning of the show, and now she's looking like a young lady. All that slogging away at the books has killed the little girl in her, and, phoenix-like, what is emerging from the ashes is a full-blown college student. Any day now, she'll be going away to Seoul Women's University with her hotpot full of ramen noodles, and little Eun-ji-a will be seen no more. Just a small sheaf of notes at her desk and a pile of stuffed animals in the corner. . . . . *sniff.*

Hmmm, I know people confuse us all the time, Lucy, but that actually was Jacques talking about Ji-hong.
Maybe Soon-ok will finally get her own room when that brat leaves! Yeah!

Just a small sheaf of notes at her desk and a pile of stuffed animals in the corner. . . . . *sniff.* I say give the girl wings and let her fly. It would be the healthiest thing for Eun-ji to taste some emancipation as she grows into a young woman and goes off to meet people her own age, psychological makeup, and aspirations. She may be leaving her stuffed animals in that nuthouse they call the Oh family home, but those huggybears are perfectly capable of defending themselves against all the dysfunction, but poor Eun-ji, as a human being, can't. I mean the girl is not even 18 and she's seen the dark side of love, marriage, and life with family life. I hope she's not too scared to know that things CAN be different in her own life if she chooses it to be so.

Hey, you think "Eun-ji" is a sort of amalgam of "Hyun-kyu" and "Min-jae"?
I know Korean pronunciation is pretty straightforward and that I don't really "get" it, but it's a theory. Whaddaya think?

The thing I noticed was how tall she has gotten. Did she always tower over her mom like that?

The thing I noticed was how tall she has gotten. Did she always tower over her mom like that? Good observation HappyCamper. There's a study out recently about how Asian boys and girls (in Asia) are growing taller faster than you can say redwood. It's been attributed to the recent phenomenon of increased, primarily Western, dairy products in their diet--cheeses, milk products, Starbucks lattes, etc.

Oh, neato. Then 40 years down the line they'll all be overweight and battling heart disease from all that animal fat.

Are you kidding? It would be so much harder to be on diet living in Asian countries. Who can resist the real food?

When I was in Japan a few years ago, I saw lots of tall young people, but practically no fat people at all. But if they keep eating all that McDonald's stufff. . . (. . .they'll start looking like me )
