Interesting phone conversation btw Myung-joo and her husband in eps. 133....Hubby decided against purchasing the shares of Joyland stock belonging to MJ's brother....instead, one of his best clients, a used car dealer also based in the U.S., a guy by the name of Peter Kang, will purchase these shares....MJ has met Mr. Kang before, and is aware that he is a valued client, and she receives assurances that Peter is trustworthy....She is pleased and agrees to meet with him, confident that he will be useful as an ally....Can she she pull off? Inquiring minds want to know....

"Hubby decided against purchasing the shares of Joyland stock belonging to MJ's brother...."
A little confused, MJ has another brother beside HK? And why would this unknown brother be selling Joyland stocks to EA or her husband? Please explain this misleading post.

Eaglestorm, this innuendo is becoming tiresome. Don't you have something to contribute to the discussion that has something to do with the point where WE are watching the drama? Bo Nay, I dont think it is becoming tiresome...actually, I thought it was fun! Of course, I could say something else and then some people would starting griping that I revealed *recoils in mock horror* ...a S-P-O-I-L-E-R! Many already know who he is and what he wants...The rest will have to wait several more weeks for the answers..... From an analysis of Myung-joo's conversation in eps. 133, this is what we can deduce: Peter Kang is obviously a wealthy multi-millionaire, involved in the used car business in the U.S.... He is a major client of Myung-joo's husband, who is President of Rainbow International.... He will purchase the shares of Joyland stock belonging to Myung-joo's brother...(that could mean about 20 percent of the company...) making him a major player at Joyland....I seem to recall that the both Myung-joo and her brother inherited the shares belonging to their late father, and that he owned 40 percent of Joyland stock.... Myung-joo has met him before and obviously wants to enlist his help in her attempts to get back at In-hwan..... His last name is Kang, so that opens up the possibility that he has some connection with Min-jae....

Could Peter Kang want his son MJ to come to the states and get away from all the mess of the OH family and take his place in the Kang family business and reconnect with him as his father? Or does PH want to get revenge on the OH family as well?

That should read PK not Ph.
Another thought, PK could be buying the stock to give to MJ thus giving him some say so in Joyland and spoiling any attempt by EA to oust MJ out of Joyland. Hmmmmmm?

Well...if this guy is indeed Min-jae's biological father, how did he become rich? I do recall that Soon-young rushed into marriage with Min-jae's dad (who is still unknown at this point....), but there was nothing mentioned before that he had big bucks.....Minjae-appa was more of a shadowy figure; we heard that he never once embraced Min-jae...and that he and Soon-young had major difficulties during their marriage, and that he never once kept in touch with his son for the past 20 years, if the recollection of some characters is correct.......

Also, this would go back to our discussions of the wierdness of Min-jae's father's family just letting him go--if THEY were wealthy, it seems they would be more likely to want to keep Min-jae in the "fold" and would not see any advantage to him becoming part of a wealthier family. I know the truth about this guy, and so does Redstone...heheheheh....But here is some interesting facts.....If the total value of Joyland stock is USD 500 million (likely worth more....), and the Lee family owned 40 percent at one point, then that means the value of their Joyland holdings was worth USD 200 million....If Peter Kang acquired half of that, (belonging to Myung-joo's brother....) then we are talking USD 100 million...not exactly chump change....Peter Kang is loaded!

Why would Myung-joo sell her brothers share of the stock? Does her company need the money? She's giving up what could very well be part control over Joyland.
Isn't her brother on her side? Is she alone in her plot to overthrow the OH family? This just doesn't make any sense, unless I missing something.
Husband says "We can trust him (Peter)", can't they trust the brother?
