I must say, it has been a remarkable ride so far...and this series promises to be even more interesting! Judging from the episodes shown this week in Korea, which is about six weeks ahead of Chicago, viewers in the US and elsewhere are in for some MAJOR suprises!
It is amazing how the storywriters of OMR just continue to come up with some incredible plot twists here and there, and scenes that just so memorable! This is one show that people will discuss long after the final episode has been televised....

Yes, I can't remember when he gave them to her, but it was shortly before she ran away. It's such a weird thing, too, with all that tulle and basketry--it is suggestive of a bassinet. Anyway, he told her to have a candy and think of him whenever she felt sad or some other negative emotion (can't remember exactly). Which is gross to me, because they're just hard candies, as far as I can tell, and therefore not too tempting. Kind of like those strawberry-wrapped candies they put into fruit baskets to fill things out; I always used to go, "Oh wow, candy!" and then be SO disappointed that they were just those little cheapies. I wouldn't want encourage so strong an association between me and a piece of crappy hard candy in the mind of MY beloved!

THAT explains why she hasn't been putting on the pounds in spite of popping one in so often! ;D Probably some lo-cal-made-with-real-fruit stuff. It's not like they were Godiva dark chocolate covered pralines or something. (although THOSE would have defintely given her a better endorphin rush--so as not to cry as much!! ;D). HK gave her those candies in a classic gift exchange scene. What did she give it him? Was it...sushi?!!

Typical male, watching what his woman eats and commenting on how she's going to gain weight! (Jacques, you are a man, aren't you? If not, sorry.) By the way, just how sensitive do you think the human metabolism is, huh? By my count, she's had about 4 pieces over the last two weeks!

Let's just say, I have an "invested" interest in how Hye Ran looks (and yes, that's a TYPICAL MALE thang! ;D). Personally, I couldn't care less if HR has a plate of carne asada 2 go with every candy she pops in: would make her a cuddlier, albeit still overwrought woman (and which man doesn't respond 2 that! ;D) lol!

Lucy, HK gave HR that basket of candy at the end of their last day together...that day they went "around the world" , on a picnic, and to the movies. She bought his candy then too and when she pulled that jar out of her bag and gave it to him he got the basket out of the car and gave it to her. I guess she didn't notice him buying and hauling around that bassinette because she was too busy thinking about how that would be the last time they saw each other. Or maybe her back was hurting too much from lugging around that heavy bag the entire day.

Hey, if all men liked "cuddly" and "overwrought," I wouldn't be single. (Uh, just kidding; there's an element of personal choice in my status, too.) But I give you props for your devotion to Hye-ran; and I think she would be pretty even if she were heavier, too.
