So obviously there was a scene cut where Mr. Kim is considering adoption. I feel sorry for Ji-hong and a little exasperated w/Soon-ok. Ji-hong isn’t some puppy you can transfer over from family to family, besides I really doubt that the Parks would give him up. I guess from her perspective she was helping them out, but geez.
Also, although it is a very noble thing Mr. Kim is trying to do, but when does he expect to have time to rear little Ji-hong when he’s always at his restaurant?

Soon-ok is such an "Oh"(-la-la ;D) family member it makes me sick. Typical rich people who think they can get into anyone's business! BTW, methinks Mr. Kim should get some child-raising pointers from Rosie O'Donnell.

Oh dear oh dear. Ki-soo may once have had . . . . relations? with a girl?? And here I thought he was just a celibate, girlish boy-man. Remember way early in the series when Tae-ho was trying to figure out just "who" Ki-soo was? I do.

I believe his last name is Kim (at least that's what I remember Keumja calling him at the beginning of the series. I'll have to check it out, but it's a pretty common name either way. Lucy--girlish boy-man?! Hilarious. Although how cute would Ji-hong look in one of Kisoo's bow ties?

Yes, according to Koreanwiz, Ki-soo's last name is Kim. Clarification: I wouldn't want anyone to think I don't think Ki-soo would make a great dad just 'cause he's a girlish boy-man. Don't you think he has such a cute quality of the old-fashioned gentleman about him? So does Ji-hong, for that matter. He would raise that boy very well and with a lot of love, I think. Also, remember that he lives in the same family compound-type residence with the Parks anyway (as their landlord), so they'd all be together. Maybe they can work out some sort of informal arrangement whereby Ki-soo is financially responsible and gets to have Ji-hong live with him, but the Parks will still treat him as part of their family.

P.S. Hey, now, we already pegged Aunt Rainbow's Mr. Kim as the father of Ji-hong.
Wait, let's do a Kim head count:
Kim Soon-young and Soon-ok Kim Ki-soo Mr. Kim, the not-so-evil henchman
It strikes me that that's a lot of Kims, even for Korea! What gives?

Let's see, Soon-young divorced her husband a Mr. Kim. If this is Ji-hong father that would make MJ and he half brothers.
Now, if Ki-soo walked on the wild side in his youth, this could also make him the father.....hmmmmmm!
I won't even get into the evil henchman and the connection.
What to do? What to do?
We'll just have to wait for those family papers to come from China to see just who fathered this child.

Let's see, Soon-young divorced her husband a Mr. Kim. If this is Ji-hong father that would make MJ and he half brothers. Good try, tata, but Soon-young's name is "Kim" because that was her father's name. Her ex-husband, and his son, are named "Kang"--women do not take their husbands' names in Korea. Also, the name of Ji-hong's father is something similar to Kim Jong-il (it's in one of the earlier posts here), so I don't really think it's Ki-soo. Just a pleasant diversion. We don't know what RH's Mr Kim is named. Bo
