Well now there certainly is no doubt that SY has a lump (no, not her jerk of a husband, I meant a tumor in her breast). How in the world is she going to go away for 3 days? Obviously she doesn't plan to tell her family so what possible excuse could she give for taking off like that? I guess it's the regular formula in dramas and soap operas to keep news like this to yourself but Lord knows I couldn't if I was in her shoes. I can understand not wanting to tell Mr Oh, since he has been so awful to her lately but she should tell someone, her sister or even Granny. I wonder if it will turn out to be the big "C". Either way I hope this brings her husband to his senses so he will stop treating her like the biggest mistake he's ever made.

I was just waiting for the infamous tumor or kidney transplat. I have seen in numerous korean dramas where the woman have had kidney problems and needed transplants. I am guessing this a common theme and why is it that the men never get sick like that.

Actually, the lead male character in "On the Green Prairie" got a form of cancer, and that storyline took up the whole last part of the show. It took him a really long time to tell his family because he didn't want to worry them, and that kind of thing drives me crazy. Right now Soon-young doesn't know if it's benign or malignant, but Tae-woong knew his was cancer and possibly terminal right from the beginning. I don't understand why these characters don't run right home and tell their families or at least their spouses and get some comfort and support. OK, maybe I wouldn't run right home and tell Granny unless I wanted a good solid two weeks of "EYEGOO! EYEGOOOOOO!," but I agree, Soon-young should at least tell her sister or even her stupid husband and milk it for all the guilt she can give him.

It drives me crazy too. I think it's sending the wrong message to the viewers, I mean it's not her fault she got cancer, so why should she act like she's ashamed she's sick?
Anyway, I stick by my theory that this is the way the writers are going to make Inhwan wake up and see that though there is nothing he can do for his deceased wife, there is much he can do for his present wife.

Soon-young, don't be a hero! Why on Earth would she tell everyone she is taking a "trip" when that's just going to infuriate everyone?! I know she's trying to spare her family the heartache, but really, her husband could use a jolt like this to snap him out of his selfish little funk. Or if your gonna lie, tell everyone you're going to the hospital to rest (they do that in these dramas) and fake a fainting spell or something. Say the Dr. is going to do something about that low blood pressure. ANYTHING but a vacation! And that's nice that the hospital makes you stay a few days, my Grandma just had cancerous tumors removed from her bladder 3 months ago and they sent her home the next day, with a catheter! And when my mom donated a kidney to my dad last year they checked in Wednesday, surgery was Thursday, and they were home Sunday afternoon. Sheesh! (Speaking of kidney transplants! )

I wished we could see Soon-young for once with disheveled, stringy hair, makeup residue from two days ago, bloodshot eyes, and dirty clothes enacting a you-did-me-wrong scene on the Ohs (In-Hwan & Grannie) straight out of Korean horror pics (she is just too well put-together, it is scary) . Pointing a broken nail at the 2 petrified weasels, she could rant: Fie! Fie on your clan for putting me through a living hell! Before I meet my maker at the cancer treatment center, I am putting a curse on your family--before the seventh son of the seventh son is born, all Oh men will fall in love with women who will be the cause of their misery and death for a change. That, and I will see you all in hell!

Thank you, Jacques!
And I too would like to see SY's perfect coif at least windblown! It's like something from the '60s, all Aqua Net-ted in place.

Why on Earth would she tell everyone she is taking a "trip" when that's just going to infuriate everyone?! Well like Jenny had said, Soon-young is paying a price for telling her lie. Now the relative truce that seemed to be going on between SY and Grandma seems to be off. This Grandma is really lazy, I remember some of the other Grannies features on different dramas and they led much more active lives. How hard is it to heat up the stew that’s already prepared? It also struck me how empty their marriage might be. On In-hwan’s part at least it does not seem to be based on anything more than romantic love (not that there is anything wrong with that) but notice how MJ knew his mother just wouldn’t give herself the luxury of leaving her family in a time of “crisis”. In-hwan doesn’t seem to even have a clue that something might be wrong. If I am supposed to feel sympathetic for his character as time passes by, I’m not feeling it.

when IN-hwan finds out about her possibly having cancer she should hit him with a flurry of punches if he screws his face to cry any,and halmoni to for good measure.
