Inhwan is showing a lot of guilt. In one of the playback scenes of the accident, it showed his first wife running into the street when the accident occured. Could it be that Inhwan and his wife were having an argument and she then ran into the street. This could explain a lot of his guilt.

There was some discussion awhile back of whether he was carrying on with Soon-young while married to HK-oma, but the general consensus seemed to be "no way." Your argument theory is interesting, Elaine. One could wonder why it took 20 years for him to FEEL that guilt--I would think you'd notice you might have caused your wife's death because of an argument that took place immediately before she ran into the street. But In-huan has been shown not to be very honorable, IMHO, despite Dong-pyo's kinder assessment of him. I hope all will be revealed soon, because I'm sick to death of listening to HK, HRH and mean grannie whine.

Reminds me of the old TV series "The Fugitive." Dr. Richard Kimble and his (drunken) wife, Helen, were having a loud argument one rainy night. He left the house and angrily went for a drive to cool off; she had passed out when The One-Armed Man came in to burgle the place. Helen unexpectedly came to and the OAM beat her over the head with a lamp, killing her. He ran out in the street and Dr. Kimble, returning home, almost ran him over with the car as he fled, making him (presumably) the only person to see the OAM at the scene. Do you think that there was a One-Armed Man type of character who caused the first Mrs. Oh to run out into the street that night? Maybe In-hwan was chasing her down with the car himself (tee-hee) when she ran in front of Tae-il's car. Or maybe, just maybe, Tae-il saw something all those years ago that he's forgotten about . . . .

Oh, and another thing about In-huan. He can break down doors with his slippered feet, and the door does not show any signs of damage! Hai-yah!

Believe me, he's got a lot more things to feel guilty about... going by the recollection of various characters in this series, and based on my understanding of what exactly happened more than 30-years ago, plus the fateful accident that took Hyung-kyu-omma's life, and what transpired soon after, In-hwan should feel guilty....and it is easier to understand why Myung-joo carries such hatred for In-Hwan and the Oh family....she's got good reason to.....When you start putting the pieces together, a clearer picture emerges, and it ain't pretty!

In the flashbacks we've seen of In-hwan seeing Tae-il at the police station, he looks quite nonchalant about it all. I still think he pushed her.
Speaking of flashbacks, have there been anymore details about those men chasing and beating a barefoot man (didn't show his face, but presumably Tae-il) in the pouring rain? I'm sure it was about his debt, but they've been sort of vague about just what happened.

There are things that have happened during the past thirty years or longer, that have not been revealed or alleged...until recently in Korea! And there are things in the past, that have all but been overlooked...and things that have not been directly discussed, but have been implied...put two and two together and everything makes sense........ I still know only part of the story, but the revelations and allegations really paint a far clearer picture. and it ain't pretty..... For me, this show looks different now than the way it did before......... Look to the "future" for answers about the past......
