Since when is this drama called Hyunkyu’s world? Can we move on to something else? Everything is HK, HK, HK! (ala Jan Brady).
The Oh’s must think people are disposable. Is she an inconvenience, then send her away. You grandson is suffering? Well then bring her back, simple as that. I’m glad Keumja told them that she thought it would be better for them to end it like this, I mean what kind of life would HR have with them? Look at how Grandma treated Soon-young, and then to have a payback like In-hwan is giving her? Not worth it.
Also, I know MJ is smart, but come on, me thinks he guessed that whole trip to the U.S. thing a little too quickly.

About HR--my god, they're all turning her against her and saying things like, "did she need to do that to Hyun-gyu?" Hey, stupids, you're the ones who told her to--no, threatened and coerced and tried to bribe her into going away! And now it's all, "O no! Hyun-gyu's heart is broken! Bring her back!" Well, isn't that just what Hye-ran *said* his reaction was going to be? Didn't she beg and beg them not to make her break his heart? Jeepers creepers, talk about incurring bad karma; the Oh family and their #1 daughter-in-law have a lot to answer for.

p.s.
Gal/chick, I think he knew because HG had studied in the States for a couple of years, and also that seems to be the place Korean soap-opera people go when they want to go away. That's where the Ohs wanted to send HR, too.

Since when is this drama called Hyunkyu’s world? Can we move on to something else? Everything is HK, HK, HK! (ala Jan Brady). I think this is because the drama is dragging on for too long. Everything else is basically resolved, except the fate of the two "young lovers" (again, the least interesting people on the show). Just imagine if Yellow Hankie had lingered on over the fate of Na-young and whoozit, the insurance guy, after Ja-young's baby was born and Sang-min's death. Whatta sleeper that would have been. Bo PS - Obviously, the only person valued by the Ohs is a woman who's been dead for 20 years. Everyone else is disposable. Ech.

Also, I know MJ is smart, but come on, me thinks he guessed that whole trip to the U.S. thing a little too quickly. This family is something else! All this week, they have schemed, ranted, and threatened in order to banish Hye Ran into the countryside. And Granny is the loudest b#!@h of 'em all! I'm sorry, in spite of my general venerance for senior citizens, this particular geriatric brings out the Robert-De-Niro-In-Dead-Calm in me ;D. I'm actually used to the actress who plays her in a ranting role (First Empress Dowager in Dawn of Empire where she ALSO had her favorite among two princes. Is that typecasting or casting karma ;D). I'm sorry the Guvernator did not succeed in his Seoul mission (hmmm, have to talk to Maria about that ). I might just have to fly to Seoul myself to handcuff these sorry a$$*s and haul them off to the International Court of Love In Paris. I hear there's a nonstop ORD-ICN flight, maybe I'll catch it after I attend the Dae Janggeum finale party ;D Back to the miserable family. I really don't have too much sympathy for pretty-boy Hyun-Kyu and others of his ilk (I only saw Titanic ONCE). I would have wished that the family would have tipped him over the edge when he came back from his bizniz trip and found out, maybe he couldve reacted in a manner approximating "The Amityville Horror." ;D Then, the AUDIENCE would have been SPARED a whole week of extended viewing misery and we wouldn't have to see Hye Ran cry-eat candy, eat candy-cry (HR, yo true suga daddy is waiting on the other side of the tv screen! ;D) As I write this message, I'm also scripting a public tribunal for the Oh family (a la Janggeum where they strip you to your long johns and have Mr. Suh/Minister Oh throw the imperial edict at you ;D) and its gonna be b*#@hes first--RH and Gramps! ;D

You're right Bo, this drama is fixating too long on the HR/HK relationship. Granny might not have to worry. Probably her precious grandson will keel over before she does, and that would only heighten her guilt even more. First she loses the dtr.-in-law that she loves and now she loses her grandson that she absolutely lives for. And how will the rest of the Oh family feel. Maybe IH will die of guilt too, for not allowing his son to marry the women he loves. What abou YJ, she might drive MJ mad with her insecurites and end their short marriage, if you can call it that. How about TH/SO? The two might blame each other's family and end up getting married anyway. Since they don't want to end up like HR/HK. What a travesty to happen to such an older couple. ;D ;D ;D Lest not forget full of saddness, little sister EJ. Her heart will just split in two, to see her much loved brother HK keel over, from the loss of his beloved running away from him, and not keeping her promise. Maybe that could give the writers something to think about. Boy we should write some of the storylines, it would make for better watching. ;D ;D ;D You think? Add a little twist here, throw a slight curve there, put in, take out, laugh a little, cry alot and so on and so on!!!! Just my thoughts on the matter.

This show has the most interrelated story lines of just about any drama I can remember. Usually, if a storyline pales on you, you can follow some of the secondary characters' stories. Often, they're more entertaining than the main story.
In OMR, thoughthey've all come to focus on the HR/HK story, which has stalled, in spite of all that's happening with it. This show needs a major crisis that doesn't involve the couple to get it back on track.

After all the dysfunction she's seen and gone through (and none of it her own fault, mind you), I think she's gonna snap, dump her family in a scathing diatribe, shave her BoA hair into a mohawk, get some of Keum-ja's Salvation Army clothing, get a dozen piercings, put on black lipstick and nail polish, and fly off to Berlin to join the cast of "Lifestyles of the Alternative."
