OK, I'm not exactly crazy about either of them (though I do like them a bit), but wasn't it cute to see them get on the same page regarding the retrieval of Hye-ran and look at each other with love again last night? It's kind of sweet to see the two goofball characters teaming up again.
--Even though I'm still wondering what happened with Soon-ok's arranged date. Did she ever go out with that rich, good-looking man with the (to her) funny name? Bo, was that scene cut out and shown in a morning episode? I'm not watching in the a.m. anymore since they got off-schedule.

I think you'll have to ask Happy Camper--I'm only watching Monday and Tuesday mornings (for previous Thurs/Fri night), and catching bits of Mon, Tues & Wed evenings when I can. I don't remember if she actually dated that guy. *I* thought he was a real cutie. I would have dated him in a minute. Bo

Ugh I can barely remember what I had for dinner, let alone an episode from a few days ago lol. But to my knowledge they never showed her arranged date with that attractive man. He did send her those beautiful flowers however and I don't think they ever specified why. Hope this helps.

For those who are overdosing on the Hyun Kyu-Hye Ran Titanic-size tragic love story, they may find the Soon-ok/Tae-ho sub-plot a bit of a relief--a romance between two people who are at least 35 years of age, if not older, more mature, less dramatic, and often providing (intended?) comic relief. ;D

Tae-ho looks like he's in serious need of a haircut! He's got the puffiest hair out of all the characters. Oh and while we're at it, lets get this man some Botox for his serious crow's feet.
Did anyone ever find out about the arranged date he was supposed to go on?

Tae-ho is so 1970s. He looks like he should be wearing a tan leather jacket, a la "Hutch" of Starsky and Hutch. I actually think Soon-ok could do better, and it's always frustrated me that their relationship only started because Tae-ho targeted her as a good gravy-train prospect.
I like his crow's-feet, though I suspect they come primarily from a smoking habit. Age alone wouldn't give him lines that deep and long.

Did anyone ever find out about the arranged date he was supposed to go on? That arranged date--didn't he end up picking up Soon-ok as a fare-paying passenger? ;D lol, if this had been some other cinematic "genre", that whole scene coulda had so much more potential! Instead it just served to provide some comic relief amid all the HK/HR cryfest. btw, Tae-ho's crowfeet and Soon-ok's puffiness (must be da water) are intentional: they are the other lovers, the middle-age ones (kidding! ;D), or at least the 35 & above demographic, who have their own brand of love drama, bordering on the ridiculous. ;D

He's that bad 70s though, the mop-top kinda fashion (even though the Beatles were during the 60s) not the Studio 54, Shaft kinda cool 70s. I wonder if we'll ever see a character sporting a mullet?

We got another eye-candy treat w/the realtor coming to see Soon-ok yesterday. Did you guys look at the gift? I don’t think the duty-free shop sells mock-crock either. It must have been genuine, although I don’t know why he told her it was on sale. He’s soooo much better looking and considerate of her than Tae-ho. What a ditz.

I know; I think I actually said, "Oh, brother!" out loud when he told her that.
But anyway, I am really liking Soon-ok these days, just because she's so transparent in a sweet kind of way. Did you see how happy she was to get the expensive, pretty present? Remember when Tae-ho said he was going to buy her a lipstick for her pretty lips to thank her for giving him a valuable (to the tune of multiple thousands of dollars, I estimate) business connection? I personally am not all about expensive gifts, but Soon-ok is, and it was funny and cute to see how happy she was about someone buying her a trinket. Of course, in the end she declined to accept it, for the right reason.

I knew that bag the minute I saw it! Two guesses, Bo. But he really lost points when he said he bought it on sale at the duty free shop. A gentleman always pays retail -- and duty -- or keeps it to himself. And I love how Tae-ho said he looked like a pimp! How can any man, standing under that hair, find the nerve to call anyone else a pimp! I think TH found our new nickname for the realitor, though.
