I just watched my first episode of War of the Roses last night and can't make head or tail out of it w/o subtitles, but I do see that FINALLY our beloved Jum-hee (-ha? what the heck is her name--Hye-ran's mom) is a rich or at least well-off wife. On "On the Green Prairie," just as in "One Million Roses," she was the wife/mom in the series' designated poor family (in "Prairie," she was married to OMR's In-hwan, BTW), always apologizing for her crummy house and having to work hard to make ends meet. But in "War/Roses," she is living in a very nice house and seems to have a bit more pride and comfort. Yay! Good to see this actress get to "be" something different for a change.

Yeah, I catched it on Wednesday (also, like Lucy could understand some of the main plot but that's about it) and I noticed she plays some kind of businesswoman. In another Wed/Thurs. drama, "Who's My Love?" she also played a rich restaurant owner.
In this one she seems to be less demure. *weeps* Doesn't this drama look good? I wish it was subtitled! Is there any way they could start subtitling it in the middle of the series, it's not too late!

Is she a goofy rich lady, or more serious, like Hye-ran's mom? This actress is really funny, she played a poor goofy woman in So This is Love, and a rich goofy woman in Who's My Love. It was nice to see her as a more dignified character in OMR.
EDIT: I just saw that Galacticchic just posted ahead of me, and answered all my questions! ;D Maybe I shouldn't have checked my emails while replying to this post!

She seemed a little goofy to me--she was ranting on about something to her ?husband? and gesticulating a lot. She was dressed in Jeum-hee* style, though, with casual pants and top rather than a more stylish outfit.
*wait, is it Keum-ja? I was just reading another of galacticchick's posts, and I think that's her name. Why can't I remember it? And who's Jeum-hee? (maybe that was her character's name in Green Prairie.)

Looks like even character roles follow the rules of karma , i.e., play a doormat a few times, and eventually karma turns around and you get roles where you're playing a well-heeled society lady with all thetrimmings (nice house, nice business) for a change. ;D

Actually I have seen this actress in 4 dramas that ran at the same time. She seems equally comfortable as a rich woman as she does poor like in OMR. However, it is odd to see her in fancy outfits and jewelry and smiling instead of always looking like she carries the weight of the world.
I have also seen Mr OH in a few different dramas, one where he was always in a t-shirt. He definitely looks better and more natural in a suit and tie.
BTW HR's father was in Pearl Necklace and he was a clean cut business man. He seemed to fit that role well.
Does anyone know if the actor that plays MJ is in anything other drama currently? Maybe in his tight white t-shirt.......? (hey, hope springs eternal lol)

humph...why didnt the italics work Elbs, you have to click the "I" (italic) button, and then you get that "text" stuff--you have to delete the word "text" and type in the word you want italicized. ( Not, as it appears you did, click "I", type your word, then click "I" again.) Try it. Bo
