He gave the money back! No one needed to tell him, to accept that amount of money was inappropriate. I was so surprised. He never seemed to have a conscience about accepting money before. Let's all give kudos to Hye-sung! He really is changing.
However (this may be covered in episodes from Thursday night on--I haven't watched them--DON'T TELL ME), I think this may come up later as another problem. I think Hye-ran may not have an opportunity to give it back to him before the cka-cka hits the fan, and another huge misunderstanding may develop because of it. Just because it's the way of this drama.

Yeah I was surprised too. I was disappointed w/Hyungku, I'm not too crazy about his character to begin with, but I don't think I'd be happy that my boyfriend is so willing to help out the dad that abandoned me. Also, he's already been told that the dad isn't a good businessman, which means the odds are that his dad is going to lose the money, why start off his married life with that kind of "guilt" looming over his wife?

I don't know what happened in last night's episode, either (have taped this morning's broadcast to watch later). But it also occurred to me that if the "Hye" kids do give back the money, Hyun-kyu might assume it's because they've found out their dad killed his mom. So, not only might he let that particular secret slip not knowing they don't know yet, but it might also lead to more bad feelings and emotional complications if he thinks that Hye-ran is rejecting the money for that reason.

Maybe he did it with the best of intentions but that was just a bad idea on Hyun Kyu's part.

Yeah, well, we all know what happened with that...
