I know there was a "best/worst looking" thread on YH, so I decided to start one for OMR. I never thought Hye Ran was that pretty, until the scenes when she goes to meet Hyun Kyu's grandmother. I think she looked so gorgeous with her hair down. I read on a site that she won Miss Korea in 2000, which was hard for me to believe at first. Yu Jin isn't ugly, but I don't think she is the most beautiful. Obviously Min Jae is a better catch than Hyun Kyu, but I have come to like Hyun Kyu also. But I still think Min Jae is better looking.

Yu jin (in my opinion) is the most beautiful. If I were to make that comparison between Yu jin & Ja young (YH) then I suppose I would go w/Ja young. I don't think Hye ran is either beautiful or not. Just ... so so...

;D Funny how you get to compare three models with one and another. The girl who plays Yu-gin was a model before she turned actress and won the Miss Populatiry award a few years ago. The same with Lee Tae-ran from Yellow Hankerchief. They all are models, including the guys. Except for Hye-ran's bro. He's funny though. Here's what a couple of my friends came up with. FEMALES 1. Yu-gin (She was better in a drama called "So this is Love" with short hair and a smacking good wardrobe.) 2. Hye-ran 3. Jo Mal-bong (Believe it or not...she is very pretty for a woman her age. And she's a great actress. I loved her in "More than Words" can say and "On the Green Prairie".) 4. Yu-kyung5. Hyun-kyu's mother6. Hyun-kyu's grandmother7. Soon-young8. Hye-ran's momMALES 1. Min-jae and HYUN-KYU2. Min's dad3. Yu-gin's dad4. Hye-sung

I forgot to mention earlier Eun Ji and Soon Ok. I think both of them are OK, not pretty but not ugly. I found it really funny when Hye Ran's uncle was making all these poetic compliments to Soon Ok and saying she should have entered beauty pageants. Of course, no one even compares to Ja Young, in my opinion.

Ja-young is by far beautiful, but you have to give some props to Yu-gin.

Remember when Hye Sung was telling Min Jae (right before he let slip that Hyun Kyu is the guy Hye Ran likes) that he wouldn't have blamed him if he chose Yu Jin over Hye Ran and that Hye Ran doesn't know how lucky she is because she wouldn't have a chance against Yu Jin? For some reason, I have always thought of people that are pretty without a lot of makeup as more beautiful than pretty people that wear more makeup.

Women: Is Jo Mal-bong the woman who plays mean granny's best friend and was Tae-woong's mother in "Green Prairie"? If so, I agree that she is very pretty. (I'd be surprised if anyone disagreed just because she's a bit older.) I find her easier on the eye than Hye-ran. I originally liked Hye-ran's looks, but that upwards-slanting mouth is terribly annoying now; I can never decipher what emotion she is trying to convey. And for some reason, they always have her present that side of her face to the camera! They should show her left side more and give me a break.
Men: As for the gents, I *really* liked Min-jae last week in his all-black traveling outfit. Grrrrowr! He doesn't have the prettiest face in the world--he has kind of an odd look, I think--but he is tall, slim, and handsome. And oodles better-looking than Hyun-kyu, IMHO (though I like HK's hair better than MJ's, which is so thin, poor guy).
Now, here's an opinion that some may find odd: I think that Hye-ran's brother is cute as a bug. That may just be because I like his character so much and he is so playful and good-natured. I also love the fact that he has a crush on his boss not simply because she's pretty and has nice legs, but also because she's tough and kinda rough on him. I laughed out loud when he captured that photo of her on his cell phone, told her she looked vicious, and clearly was delighted to have this "vicious-looking" picture to look at whenever he wanted.

I forgot Soon-ok! (The one whose sister has the young daughter; is that her name?) I do think she is beautiful, even though Hye-ran's uncle may have been laying it on a little thick. I like these "spinster aunt" characters a lot; there was one in "Green Prairie" (Yon-ho's aunt), and I think it's a great "type." Those characters are at a more interesting time of life than the ingenues, and they have the added tension of having everyone judge them for being unmarried, so it's fun to watch these slightly faded beauties find their mates. Also, they seem to have great, sassy little short hairdos, whereas the ingenues tend to basically have long hair.

I have to admit, though, I think Yellow Hankerchief has better looking women.

I originally liked Hye-ran's looks, but that upwards-slanting mouth is terribly annoying now; I can never decipher what emotion she is trying to convey. Isn't it the most annoying thing? I noticed it from day one. Sometimes I'll pay more attention to her facial expressions and wonder to myself "how long can she keep that expression on for?". Yu-jin is the prettiest and the best dressed woman. Her sister is also very pretty. Next would be Hye-ran, although she always has coats w/collars that remind me of the Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band cover. Malbong is good looking but she needs to get some Crest Whitestrips! (although I really should talk ) Another older beauty was Tak's mom in Bodyguard. Oh and the younger aunt in Who's My Love (the one that owned a cafe). Men: Min-jae, although he's getting a few gray hairs, but that's okay. And I'd rather put the manager of the event team in front of Hyun-ku who I am almost certain has had collagen injected into his upper lip.

I got annoyed with Hye Ran's collared coats, too, but I was told that they were her work uniforms.
