In this morning's rebroadcast, there was a restored scene that explained why Kwi-boon didn't approve of In-hwan marrying Sun-young: Sun-young's mother was a maid for the Oh family.
Grandma also said she would of course approve of Hyun-kyu's girl, no matter what her family . . . and, of course, his girl's mother was a maid for the Oh family (even if only briefly).
Also in the restored scene was an explanation of why Sun-young stayed up all night making loach soup. Sun-young asked Granny if she wanted a snack, and Granny said she wanted Cholla-style loach soup, thinking Sun-young wouldn't actually make it, and she could chide her for being only words, not actions.
I looked it up, and loach is similar to catfish. I was kind of wondering why Sun-young had to stay up all night, until I remembered that Koreans eat soup for breakfast.

Thank you so much for sharing that information, Soju! That part about Sun-young's mother is a very important fact!!! Uh oh, now we know mean grandma's feelings towards marring the help (or the help's daughter ).

yeah thanx, although i'm late on this episode, but it really helped me understand y that grams hates sun-young. truth-be-told, i really don't like sun-young either. she's pitiful, yes, and one can show empathy towards her, but she just doesn't try hard enough with min-jae and it annoys me.
