Okay, I know this is a little weird, but...well, it involves "ladies' personal products" so be forewarned. I would never have thought. Bo english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200404/200404130027.htmlPS - you might like to bookmark this site--it's a translated version of a Korean daily paper. The lead story today is about a withdrawn impeachment proceeding as a result of the elections yesterday.

Wowee. I was going to quote a couple of the more interesting statements here, but I realized I would have to quote just about every line! Thanks, Bo!

I didn't really see the big deal about that until I brought it up with my sister and she had a problem with it so I guess it must be a girl thing.

What must be a girl thing? I just thought it was a weird article altogether.

I didn't mean it in a bad way .. I just meant that I saw nothing wrong with it, basically went over my head, but my sister did so this must be something that a girl would understand better and perhaps find weird or have a problem with.

Oh, poor Knov1. Calling something "a girl thing" is always insulting to us girls (for future reference). But you're right. I think it's a little strange for a previously male person to be advertising products he'll never use, but he (I mean, she) seems to be doing it for humanitarian reasons. I think it's sweet. Bo

I think that is neat. Imagine selling them to people who do not NEED them! Like bottled water!
How about the infomercials on 28? You don't need to understand Korean with the diagrams.

I love the Korean Home Shopping Network thing they have on before "One Million Roses" and/or the evening news. My VCR catches it sometimes. I have seen things that made my stomach turn (biological things, let's leave it at that), but there is also this thing that looks like a giant-pumpkin-growing kit. Everyone is standing around admiring these big gourds and boxes of supplies.
Also, how about that ad for the duct-cleaning company, or the one for the doctor that shows you all your sludge-filled organs? My favorite, though, is the one for Kokuho Rose rice, which features a little girl taking rice to her farmer dad in the fields--is he a rice farmer? That would be ironic. And wow, plain white rice; that'll hold you for a long day in the fields! The mother/wife has put seeds in a heart shape on top of the rice, and as the man looks at the food, her face appears and she smiles and waves from the heart. It also features one C. Lorenzo Pope, PhD., Rice Researcher and pith-helmet-wearer extraordinaire. I looked him up, out of curiosity, and he is at Calif State U, Chico, to this day! (even though the ad looks at least 20 years old.) Gosh, I love watching things whose language and/or underlying culture I don't understand.

They are young so I think it is to increase fertility. Not cramps. We are bringing in old wives tales stuff. I think these are the heat seats.
I love the bowel purge herbs! You KNOW what that is for! Things rub off on me so I cannot WATCH them!
Maybe rotating seats are the round ones for exercise, you mean? If they are for long periods of sitting you WILL strain your back sitting on them and MIGHT fall off exercising.
I wrote an advertiser years ago. They had a BAD commercial. I think it was made BY Korean-Korean for Koreans here. It was presented very badly. I was ignored. A furniture ad and the female (not Korean ethnic) was blocking the whole view as in the Spanish commercials. I wanted to see the stuff (not hers).
