I was a little disappointed that S. Korea's "Bullet Train" was something they simply purchased from the French. Quite unlike the Japanese, who designed and built their own. Looks like the Koreans still have a ways to go before they match the Japanese in High Technology.
I was interested in seeing that a 5 1/2 day workweek is the norm in S. Korea (I'd noticed how the Joyland crew on OMR always seemed to be working on weekends).
Odd, though - with those awful commutes, why would they have a 5 1/2 day workweek? Spending 3 or 4 hours in traffic only to put in 4 or 5 hours of work seems pretty rugged. Guess Koreans are a hearty bunch.
