Just saw it yesterday. I left the theater a changed person. I have never felt so loved in my life! Humble is absolutely right, don't see it as violent, but as God's love for His people. I think that graphic violence was necessary to depict just how great a sacrafice He made for us. I cried the whole time, and I NEVER cry at movies. This was more than a movie to me. I've read it in the Bible but to see it really made an impact on me. I highly recommend it.
To keep on topic, the subtitles were very easy to read. They weren't fast paced and were very big. So for those people you know who complain that subtitles are too small to read or too fast, they have no excuse! (Although it will be a lot smaller if you rent it.)
