Sometime ago, I read a thread somewhere on this message board that discussed the location of subtitles on the TV screen. Unfortunately, I looked and looked and could not find the thread. First thing I want to say is that I am certainly appreciative of those who work hard to provide English subtitles for people like me, who would otherwise not be able to enjoy these wonderful dramas. I was watching a drama on Channel 28 with the subtitles located on the bottom left of the TV screen, and wanted to say that my eyes were getting tired of going from “bottom left” to read and back up to the picture. Maybe it’s just me and my eyes were tired to begin with, but it seems less of a strain on the eyes to read from “bottom center”, then back up to the picture. Again I say “THANK YOU” to all translators providing subtitles. My humble opinion is for the consideration of anyone who might be setting up subtitles in the future.

Again I say ?THANK YOU? to all translators providing subtitles. My humble opinion is for the consideration of anyone who might be setting up subtitles in the future. Does anyone else feel the same? If most of you feel the same, I'm more than willing to change the location of subtitles as requested. Just drop me some feedbacks over here. Thanks.

Bottom center seems better to me, too. I never thought about it until I watched something with the subtitles at the bottom left. Maybe it was just because it was different, and I was used to seeing the subtitles somewhere else? But Luvz makes a good argument against bottom left subtitles. Thank you Michael for letting us pick where they go!

I kind of like when they're on the left - that way I know Michael did them, and they'll be of superior quality.

Oops! I'm sorry! Are YH's subtitles on the bottom left? I can't remember. If they are then I have no problem with the bottom left, since I didn't even notice! One thing that threw me once before (a couple of years ago) was that a new drama started with a smaller font size (is font the right word?) than the previous drama and it was very distracting, although it didn't stop me from watching! I'll pay more attention tonight, but I've never had a problem with YH's subtitles so wherever they are is fine to me! (Maybe the smaller font thing is what made me notice where the subtitles were? Oh, I don't know anymore! As long as they're in English, I'm happy!)

For your information, I'm going to try putting subtitles in center for "The Great Jang-geum." Let me know what you think!
By the way, how is the subtitling font? Is it little too big? too small? too bright for your TV??

when will The Great Jang-geum start to air?
BTW. I like the subtitles in the center. Just my preference. I only watch Age of Warriors at this time. The location, font size, and brightness are just fine.
