Was the real life Kyung Dae-Seung as annoying as the one on TV? It was established many episodes ago that he was a righteous man who only wanted good for the people. But he took that to a new level. He does not take any action unless "it is for the people of Koryo". I find it hard to believe that he has no personal ambition at all. Not marrying the princess simply because of some peasant girl he met for a brief while. He is good for the sake of being good. He is not as multi-faceted as the other characters. His constant desire to retire once the situation's settled also annoys me. Who would actually withdraw at such a young age if they had that much prestige? My final grievance with him is his vicious hatred of Yi Ui-min. Just because Ui-min was ordered to kill the deposed tyrant Ui-jong, everyone seems to hate him? I'm sure this arrogant personality is just a passing phase for the Archfiend. In short, I find Kyung Dae-seung a boring goody-goody character. Does anyone share my view?

i like kyung but what i don't like about him is that. he hates yi ui-min so much with out knowing him.hey the fight between kyun and kyung.i think kyun won when he threw the dirt.at kyung eyes.yes its kind of cheating but still.when kyung was on the floor, kyun instead of kicking him should had cut kyung head off with the sword.what a mistake kyun made.bu i have no problem with kyung dae seung.i wish i was alive n those days i would had helped the chung clan.well maybe lol

Hrmm...I like Kyung Dae-Seung a lot. I identify myself with him quite a bit. If I lived back then, I wouldn't have any personal ambition. He's a patriot. If you saw Braveheart, William Wallacee had no personal ambition. He could have killed the "leadership" of Scotland, but didn;t. On the marriage of the princess...he was in love with the peasant girl. I can't stand Ui-Min very much. I use to like him, but not any more. I don't blame Kyung for hating him.

kyung doesn't even know yi ui-min.just because he heard that ui-min killed the depose emperor big deal.if i was in the old times maybe i wold had been like kyung in the start, but maybe end up like yi ui-bang.even if i still think yi ui-bang is a good guy.

Patriotism wasn’t as strong back then as it is today. it is not uncommon to read about ambitious generals. If I lived back then I'd probably be ambitious and so would most of us.

Maybe he thought the way the deposed emperor was killed was a terrible and cowardly way to do so. I think I read that he was gotten drunk and rolled up in a mat then thrown into the water. Also, what is stopping him from killing this emperor in the same way? Kyung probably thinks that if Yi Ui-Min killed the feposed emperor, he might kill this one too.

Kyung's father passed on to him the mantle of responsibility for their clan. Even if Kyung isn't close to his clan, he knows that they will reap the results of what he sews. If he blows it they could all be killed, and that would be on his conscience/soul.

Honestly, I sometimes feel like doing that. Don't forget the transition from laughing to crying. Just when does it start?

Yep, he really annoys me. I hated about the fact that he was the one that destroys the chungs. Wish Ui Min was the one that did that. But what i like about him is that he can always keep himself look so clam and cool and plan things so well like the way he kill his friend huh seung (duno if i spell it right)

you have to understand him his life sucks. his father died, the girl he liked died,he saw the people die,he took out the chungs, they had no respect for him.they made rumors of him.his sworn brother, killed people and made it look like kyung did it.the imperial house wanted him out.now his sworn brother, makes fun of his weak army lol. he laughed because he knows he is a good guy.but everything goes wrong.thats why he cryed to at the same time.now he doesn't no what to do.poor guy ;D Chung Kyun's explanation on why Kyung Dae-seung screams and cries at the same time: I couldn't have said it better myself. And the smilies capture it perfectly! One thing that does bother me about Kyung Dae-seung is that he yells at the Central Committee and infuriates them. Now I know that he is angry at the ineffective ministers and the interfering generals and I know that when he castigated Ministers Moon and Yum one time it had the desired effect of making them feel ashamed of themselves, but when he yells at the entire Council (and threatens them! if they don't deliver) I fear he is making enemies and coming across as an upstart. I wonder what General Du thinks of him. From his looks maybe he wants to join the Archfiend! Lt. Kim Kim is right in telling Kyung Dae-seung not to let his anger get the best of him. Kyung Dae-seung may have a calm exterior, but inside he is boiling over and might explode! He suffers for the people.

Thanks Eowyn ;D yeah kyung is a likeable guy.but he does get people mad.he always screams when he doesn't like something.but what i really don't like about him is that he didn't speak up when the emperor kicked him out.he likes the princess but acts like he doesn't.she even said to him.im in love with you, i can't stop thinking about you,i will live anywhere with you,i just want to spend the rest of my life with you.but he just drinks the wine and says this is for your wedding.she says why are you being like this with me.then he tells her some bullshit about that if he stayed with her he would look like he is a person that is not faithful to the emperor. if kyung likes her he sholdn't care about what the empire says.so almost everything wrong that happens to him is kind of his fault mostly when it comes to love. sorry if imade some typos my webtv sucks lol.it uses batteries i need to buy new ones.

It is a wonderful thing to finally find some individuals who appreciate Keung Dae-Seung I find it so sad that Keung is treated in such a terrible manner by most of the people in court just because he happens to hold so much power> . The reason why he is the way he is is becuse he is a great man who is extremely fustrated that no one is trying to better the lives of the poor people in the empire, though it is within their power and means to do so. But we see this acted out even in our society, where lest than 10% of the population has about 80% of the wealth and out of that !0% only about 3-5% give anything back to the community. Even our elected officials generally don't deliver on their campain promises. Thus, the poor continue to suffer and will continue to suffer, just like during the 1170s and on in Korea.
