...will be delayed by a couple of days. I have a project to get done and it's due before Monday morning, and it's eating up tons of time. So I'll watch 17 on Monday. Apologies for the delay.

Terribly sorry I didn’t get to this one sooner. The project I had to get done wore me out and I’ve been sleeping and catching up on other things. I’ll get to episode 18 over the next few days and we’ll do 19 on schedule next weekend. ----------------------------------------------- OK so it starts with Sado boinking the help. Frustrating that we lost so much of the sound, but we got the idea. A little surprised at him, yes the opportunity is certainly there but he certainly knows better than to dip his pen in the company ink, like they say. “Forgive me for not keeping a closer watch.” What on earth could she have done about it? You do have to respect the culture of personal responsibility that we see in these historicals but in a situation like this there’s not a darned thing she could possibly have done. And everybody knows that. Park Moon-soo, on Youngjo’s making the father/son relationship difficult: “You get more suspicious with age.” Maybe that's it, maybe not...but what an interesting discussion that was. Lady Moon’s mom, to her son: “You used to have balls before. You don’t now since you’re comfortable?” Enjoyed that. And yeah that’s how it works, many times. Wow, Park Moon-soo is Employee of the Month by a landslide! Telling the king to his face all the things he told him, and having the king listen to him respectfully and then even make the effort to do what Park said (which we could see was uncomfortable for the king), this guy is very impressive. (click for full size) Geez look at the size of that thing! So Youngjo went and watched Sado shoot arrows. That scene was well directed. Youngjo was making an effort, but you could see how awkward he felt, and didn’t seem to have much regard for archery skills as well. “You found three?” Well that’ll cover you 87.5% but not 100%. Whatever, this seems just so far-fetched. Lady Moon is smart enough to think of bribing the gatekeepers, so clearly she’s thinking hard. But do they actually plan to have a baby boy in the room when she delivers and then switch, and somehow get the girl out of there unnoticed? It all seems way too impossible to even want to try, doesn’t it? (click for full size) Now how did she get that from that one brief interaction? Maybe we missed something, like a scene was cut out where somebody saw something that night outside. There has to be more evidence than just the servant’s hissy-fit for everyone to readily conclude that it’s true. Something was lost there, possibly a sloppy cut that Arirang made when it aired the episode.

I think we were supposed to tell from her skirt being inside out, although the writer would want us to tell by the court maid's arrogance and refusal to do anything.

Did not notice the skirt, good eye! But if the maid's attitude is supposed to be the tell, then I have to fault the writer big-time. Because come on, a maid gets crabby and all of a sudden it's 100% certain that she slept with the crown prince? Seriously? Did princes boink the help so often that this was a guaranteed sign of it? No, of course not. This should have been written better, or at least the scene expanded to include the maid fessing up.
