Could you write out what the four drama choices are? I'm a little confused. No problem! The oldest fully subbed historicals, as far as I know: Edit - I missed one actually so make that five:
- Eyes of Dawn (MBC, 1991)
- Jang Hee Bin (SBS, 1995)
- Im Kkeok Jeong (SBS, 1996)
- King's Pathway/King of the Wind (MBC, 1998)
- Heo Jun (MBC, 1999)
L Eyes of Dawn is subbed? Including Im Kkeokjeong? Where can I find these?

Since one of these is about a Joseon doctor, isn't there another one about the first Western hospital and the Koreans who trained there? I can't remember it's name. It took place during the time that the Queen was assassinated by the Japanese I believe. I know that one is subbed.

That drama is called Jejungwon, but I'd recommend Mr. Sunshine over that drama if that is the time period you're going to be choosing. Both dramas have fictional characters as main characters so neither are traditional historicals. If the choice is between two dramas about same time period and both have fictional characters as main characters, I'd have to say Mr. Sunshine is the better drama.

Sorry to be slow here, still dealing with family health stuff, ugh....There are certainly other choices beyond those, but we've never even watched anything as old as EWG here so I thought it might be interesting to try older ones. But that's not a decision.
Personally I wanted to get back to the Sado movie, and Im Ho is one of my favorites so I was curious to see how he did Sado. Plus it's the shortest one, so we'd be done with it before or around when the next new one starts. But if one of the others is regarded as much better than the rest, I'm open to that too. Really we can watch them all, it's just a matter of which one first.

I don't have a Netflix subscription going right now...maybe when they bring Kingdom back we can consider doing Mr. Sunshine also (not just for my situation, for anybody else who'd need to sign up for one).
That latest news article about the Hyeonjong series says they're going to try to get it started before 2024. So let's do King of the Wind next, since it's the shortest of the four old ones. It still may end up overlapping a little bit, but not much. Plus I really like Im Ho, and am eager to finally watch a Sado story. We can choose one of the other three after Hyeonjong ends.
First I'll finish watching that movie. Maybe we can tie it in on the same board.

There might never be a 3rd season of Kingdom. The writer of Kingdom is returning with a new SBS drama called Revenant on June 23rd. No news on when she'll return with Kingdom S3 or whether there ever will be another season.

So did she like lose interest in her own series? I guess she's just more interested in writing other series for now. Something I just learned earlier this morning : Kim Eunhee used to be a backup dancer for 80s Kpop star Kim Wanseon before she became a drama writer lol
