Not a lot to say about this one...Bekjae pushed themselves too hard and got into this mess, and now we’re seeing if they’ll get out of it and how much they’ll be damaged if they do. Good episode but pretty straightforward stuff, nothing too surprising.
Geez those Koryo scouts at the beginning need to be more careful, it sure looked like they’d be easily visible to the Bekjae army on the road there. Sloppy, sloppy….
Have to love Yi Chi’s confidence…not from arrogance but from calm analysis of the facts.
And of course this:
Yi Soon Shin! Yi Soon Shin! Maybe it’s not intentional but this is becoming a running gag and it’s hilarious. Who did they think would be there? Love it.
Kyun-hwon to Choi Seung Woo: “I should have listened to you from the beginning.” Yeah seriously, the guy is never, ever wrong and just keeps coming up with great ideas. You’d think KH and everybody else knows better by now than to disregard his advice.
Jimong: “Yes your majesty. Stars do not lie.” Stop it! Stop that right now! Sheesh!
I’ve harped on this during other series so it’s only fair: If it’s so darned cold out there how come we’re not seeing any of their breath?
The combat stuff was very good, right up until the archers came forward and started shooting, yes, the flaming arrows. No way did it really happen that way. There was no advantage to using the flaming arrows in that situation and a significant disadvantage in loss of speed and power. That was a downer for me.
Yi Chi, looking at the freight wagon; “There’s no need to bother with that.” Apparently Yi isn’t quite the supreme analyst after all. Didn’t it seem like for just a moment that the subordinate would see through it? Frankly I was pretty sure that they wouldn’t fall for it. It’s not such an obscure trick that nobody on the Bekjae could have thought of it. But it looks like KH lives to fight another day. We’ll see which of his sons do.
