The second season of Kingdom gets released here in the USA on March 12. So before that, we'll go through the first season for everyone like me who hasn't seen it. That will get everybody caught up and on the same page.
SEASON ONE
Episode 1: Tuesday, February 11
Episode 2: Sunday, February 16
Episode 3: Friday, February 21
Episode 4: Wednesday, February 26
Episode 5: Monday, March 2
Episode 6: Saturday, March 7
That's every five days--apologies for squeezing them a bit but the release date caught me off guard. Many people have already seen them so hopefully it won't be a problem for anyone. The episodes run between 43 minutes and 56 minutes in length, so nothing we aren't used to here.
SEASON TWO
Episode 7: Friday, March 13
Episode 8: Friday, March 20
Episode 9: Friday, March 27
Episode 10: Friday, April 3
Episode 11: Friday, April 10
Episode 12: Friday, April 17
One per week, like we've been doing for a while now.
SUBSCRIBING TO NETFLIX
The series is produced by Netflix, the paid streaming service. If you don't already have a Netflix subscription then go to their website:
www.netflix.com/
They ask for your email address and then you choose a subscription level. The basic subscription is $9 per month; you can pay a few dollars more for HD streaming or for access on more than one screen, but if your only interest for now is watching the twelve Kingdom episodes then the basic level is fine. Also, you get your first month free (including a trial of the HD and multi-screen features). So if you jump ahead a few days on the final episode, you can watch all twelve episodes on our schedule within two months' time and pay just $9. They let you cancel any time--no contract and simply a monthly charge that you pay with a credit card or through PayPal. You can also buy a Netflix gift card if you're more comfortable paying that way.
When you sign up they ask for a phone number to send an account recovery text in case of password problems. But it isn't mandatory so you can skip it if you want.
As I've said elsewhere, I don't want this forum to rely too heavily on shows that people have to pay to watch. But the cost of watching Kingdom is minimal so we're making an exception since the series is so popular and well-regarded.
