When I was asking this question, I just wanted clarification on Xu Jing’s description and how the Korean to English translation goes is all. So you think agree might have been around even before Yuan overlordship based on Xu Jing’s description? 1. I'm not doubting you. I was just surprised that modern Chinese speakers could actually understand Classical Chinese. I never knew that, that's all. I always thought Classical Chinese would look gibberish to Modern Chinese speakers. That is, I thought they could read the characters but many of the meanings and context of the words used would be very different from Modern Chinese. 2. Yes. As I said, my problem with the armor was the Mongolian-influnced design, not rivets.

These pictures look very accurate.
If the armors in Goryeo-Khitan War removed the Mongolian-influenced parts from shoulders and bottom, they would look very similar to the armors in these pictures.
