1. I'm not doubting you. I was just surprised that modern Chinese speakers could actually understand Classical Chinese. I never knew that, that's all. I always thought Classical Chinese would look gibberish to Modern Chinese speakers. That is, I thought they could read the characters but many of the meanings and context of the words used would be very different from Modern Chinese.

2. Yes. As I said, my problem with the armor was the Mongolian-influnced design, not rivets.

These pictures look very accurate.

If the armors in Goryeo-Khitan War removed the Mongolian-influenced parts from shoulders and bottom, they would look very similar to the armors in these pictures.
