Just as I suspected, there were a couple of scenes cut from last night's broadcast. We got to see what happened after Sang-min told Ji-min they'd go back to his place to wait until it was time for him to be picked up.
They entered his apartment to find Min-joo there. She had let herself in to check on SM, and when he wasn't there, she stayed to cook some food for him. She was surprised to see him come in w/ JM, but handled it pretty well and spoke nicely to JM. Sang-min told her they had been at the zoo but SM got tired and decided to return home for the remainder of their time together. MJ could see that SM was very tired out and was concerned for him. She found out that SM was supposed to return JM to the previous drop-off locale and YJ would meet them there. MJ could see that SM was too tired to go out again and suggested if he called YJ, he would certainly be willing to come by for JM. SM didn't want to bother YJ w/ that, but MJ said that was silly and picked up the phone to call him herself. YJ came right over and dismissed SM's apologies, saying he did the right thing.
SM invited him, but YJ said he should get back. After YJ left w/ JM, MJ asked SM about why he didn't tell him he is JM's father, as she noticed JM called him "uncle". I felt rather annoyed w/ her for asking this, as he's gone over it w/ her already and it's probably the last thing he wants to discuss. I had to laugh a little then because SM responded w/ "I told you already I'm not going to do that!" and sounded just slightly ticked. It was funny because his reaction was as mine.
In the car, JM was talking in a very animated way to YJ about all the animals he saw at the zoo. JM said very sincerely, "I had a lot of fun!" YJ said he was glad and then said, "So you liked uncle?" JM replied "Yes! I like him a lot!" It was really very sweet and touching and I wished they'd at least left that little scene in...it didn't take up much time and it added so much. YJ looked kind of sad. It was touching.
I don't know why YJ didn't just drive JM home and leave him off w/ his grandmother to watch. But for some reason, he took him to JY's office and left JM w/ her to bring home. JY told her colleagues she would leave early to get him home. It didn't seem to make a lot of sense...I don't know...maybe Grandma Sohn wouldn't have been home or something.
I believe that was the last cut scene. Next we see the dinner table scene of JM talking about what different animals eat which was in last night's broadcast. It was nice that JM had such a good time w/ the birth father he most likely will never get to know better than that. I just wonder the poor kid didn't have a tummy ache. Ice cream right after breakfast and then he was eating something green from a really big carton when YJ got to the apartment to pick him up. I think maybe it was ice cream too, or some other kind of frozen dessert.
One of the things I find the most sweet is that in these outings we've seen w/ SM and his 2 children, he's making a real effort to teach them things. W/ Yuna it was about trains and train tracks and how to listen for a train coming, among other things. W/ Ji-min, he was teaching him all about animals...how old the tigers were, what different animals eat, etc. It's obvious he wants very badly to pass on something to them they can carry w/ them through life. Knowledge is one of the few things that works like that. I find it very touching.
