ALready saw most of these
Though it be fun to do an old vs new comparison (discuissing what makes one scene work better than the other)

Jeong Mongju's death in SBS Six Flying Dragons(2016)
Which one do you think is better? Jeong Dojeon or Six Flying Dragons?
My vote goes to Jeong Dojeon's version.

If you included Tears of the Dragon, I would have picked that over the other two. But of the two modern shows, I have this to say. SFD's version has Poeun yell his poem at Yi Bangwon (who wasn't likely present there in real life), which I think is actually pretty effective, but Yi Bangwon's actor's facial expressions keep killing the scene for me (I don't mean it in a good way). While JDJ's portrayal of Poeun getting cut up before getting his head bashed is overdoing it in my opinion, the melancholic music and Im Ho's delivery of the poem's lines makes up for it. The repeated bashing of the head hurts the momentum in SFD as well. So point goes to Jeong Dojeon.
What I will give SFD a point over JDJ, however, is Sambong's reaction to Poeun's death. Kim Myung Min's JDJ just gets out of his cell, someone comes up to him and tells him about his friend's death (inaudibly), and when that person leaves, Kim Myung Min collapses to the ground. There's no dialogue, no music, just visual imagery that tells it all.
There's a tumblr that's a fansite for SFD, but also gives historical background of the drama. According to the tumblr, it says that the real Jeong Mongju was killed during the daytime on that bridge, but drama writers change it to night. Can you confirm this?

Every Korean historicals decided to do the killing scene during night for some reason.
