In the olden days even though kdramas were watched on WOCH, the techies here tried to help out members with pc problems whenever it was posted within a drama's thread. Now that many of us (esp those who can't get MBC reception ) are depending on pc's to stream our shows, what say there's a designated forum for those stuck in drama limbo? Then a generous member with pc smarts could chime in and get you on the road to troubleshooting. ginnycat5, that might work for you. But, it sounds like soapygram and I are stuck praying to an unseen force for help. soapygram, is Sybill your nickname for a multiple-personality pc -- or a custom-designed pc? Even though I've never there when your pc acts up, I believe that it does based on my own experience in 2012 when even HP had to throw their hands up after numerous attempts at repairing my almost-new pc and offer me a new replacement. Even now with a new HP Envy Windows 8, I'm experiencing the same weirdness I had last year with the other pc. Weird stuff like the 'brightness wheel' suddenly displaying on my screen and my brightness dials down to near-zero. Or the C:/drive black display pops up on my screen and starts writing scripts of one kind or another. Is dedicating a special thread to "oh, oh, I'm having problems watching on my pc" a good or bad idea? Thoughts, anyone?

I think this is a great idea! and perfect timing since I am having trouble getting dramafever to work on my internet exploer-- it works fine when I use firefox, I have been trying the steps that Knov put on this board, but no luck yet. When I go to the website the screen is all overlapping with the words and pictures...... Even general computer problems/questions would be good here-- my hubby usually goes into such a long explaination to fix somthing that I can't follow him!

my hubby usually goes into such a long explaination to fix somthing that I can't follow him! (lol) Bird11, that's a problem when dealing with geniacs, "just fix the problem, puh-leez"). Dramafever's weird for me. I've tried it on my Kindle Fire and even after signing in, I can't get anything more than a few seconds viewing on it--I don't want to pay the monthly subscription. Firefox on my pc lets me view after watching ads but then starts slowing down after I've viewed a drama more than 3-4 times. Never tried viewing with IE tho. Dramafever now offers free w/o ads app for Sony Google TV's so that's the only place I watch dramafever. Thanks for the feedback! I guess the only drawback to posting a question here is there are fewer active members now. So waiting for a reply could be a futile wait, don't ya think?

I like the idea. My concern would be I'm not sure we have anyone qualified to give tech support. Perhaps it could work as a group effort or if the problem isn't too technical.

;D In years past, in the good old days when I had a desktop comp, I received lots of help from all the mods and others on our board. We do have some really nice members, don't we? Some of the more technial stuff that many of our members know how to do, like you Knov1, might well be very helpfuld in solving problems in some instances So if you and others think it might be a good thing, I'm with you on that. Promise, I won't be asking too many dumb questions, I hope I realize that many of my problems occur due to my lack of acute vision. The monitor I have is large but the contrast only seems to make the background brighter it does not have any way to increase the bol dness of text I'm sure I am not the only person with dim vision who could benefit from having that option on the monitor. However, as of now, nobody has a solution for that . Good luck to all who need help, been there many times; and to those of you who have helped me in the past, a big THANK YOU.

The monitor I have is large but the contrast only seems to make the background brighter it does not have any way to increase the bol dness of text I'm sure I am not the only person with dim vision who could benefit from having that option on the monitor. However, as of now, nobody has a solution for that . What operating system does your computer have? Vista & 7 have a feature called DPI Scaling. It enlarges the text on your computer. You find it under Control Panel. Go to Personalization. Click on Adjust font size on the left side and select Larger Scale (120 DPI). You can also enlarge text in your internet browser. In Firefox, you can enlarge text using Zoom under View. Make sure you select Zoom Text Only. Then when you Zoom in it'll only enlarge the text. Internet Explorer has an option specifically for enlarging text under View. Go to Text Size and select the size you want. In Google Chrome, you can increase font size under Settings. Go to Advanced Settings and you'll find the font size option under Web Content. If you only want to increase the font in DramaFever, you can do that. Play the episode you want to watch. Hover your mouse over the video screen. Click on the icon that looks like a bolt. You'll see various options for increasing the font size. You can change the color of the text too. Maybe you already know this but thought it might help.
