Well, that seemed to create quite a stir on the internet for a few days. Kind of like a global troll.

I think that she should go live in Korea first before deciding that she's Korean.
I know I'm Korean since I was born Korean and raised in Korea before coming to the U.S, but she was born white and raised in Canada in a Caucasian family until she was exposed to Korean culture online. I don't think she should identify herself as a Korean until she lives in Korea at least for few years. She can make the right decision after she does that. She might be disappointed in Korea since it is so different from what she imagined Korea to be and the Canadian culture. If she does live in Korea for few years and she still feels that she's Korean, I guess she can then identify herself as a Korean.
There's a white Mormon Utah man named Robert Holley, who felt that he was Korean when he first came to Korea in 1980 and naturalized as Korean in 1990s. He even has a Korean name Ha Il and became the founder of the Youngdo Ha clan.

You are so kind, truth. Yours is "right thinking" on this matter (as in the Buddhist sense), I feel.
