Captivating The King on Netflix . Netflix have decided to cut down on historical dramas after the complete failure of Song Of The Bandits . Not that they have produced an actual real historical anyway . Captivating the King is a tvN drama, not a Netflix series. It doesn't mean it's a Netflix series just because it's on Netflix. Almost half of the dramas made by tvN get picked up by Netflix each year, this show is one of them. There are only 4 Korean Netflix series based on historical settings: My Only Love Song(time-slipping to meet On Dal of Goguryeo), Kingdom(Zombie outbreak in Joseon), Song of The Bandits(Japanese Occupation), Gyeongseong Creature(Japanese Occupation) Every other Korean historical setting series on Netflix are from Korean TV networks and have nothing to do with Netflix in regards to production in any shape of form.

I wonder what happened to Queen Woo?, it was meant to start at the end of January . I don't know where you got this information, but the Korean wiki page about the drama says nothing about it starting in January.

Paramount Global announced it last year for the end of January .A German girl who lives in Japan and spends time in South Korea gave me the info . However since than Paramount Global have been put up for sale . The parent company CBS/ Paramount announced they would be cutting back on imported dramas ( inc British ones ) as none of the ones they have leased have not done well ( this was in Variety ) . While this wonβt affect the Korean broadcast it maybe bad news for K drama fans in other parts of the world .

Anyone ever see The Heike Story?
Itβs an animated dramatization about the fall of the Taira clan. Came out a few years ago.
Normally we talk live action stuff when it comes to historicals but animation can be drama too

Came this close to seeing Golden Days, a Taiga from 1978, but the funniest circumstance happened: So the only way I can really watch it was with Korean subs (there's no Eng ones as far as I know), and the lady who subbed it was selling copies for US$50, which I paid; but then she returned the money and never gave me the subtitles, saying I have no business watching a Taiga subbed in Korean because she didn't think I'd understand it. I didn't pursue it any further, but it's a pity, really.

Thats one of the best ones allegedly, its never been subbed but i was ready to take the plunge on Avitaz until i found out it was 200Gbs .Cant watch it and dump it either because you have to seed it forever .I did see the omnibus version years ago and really liked it .
