I agree. No pointless scenes of "comic relief" (we saw too much of that in Dong Yi) and very little sappy music to date. I do like the music that is played at the end of each episode - it sounds very operatic to me

KBS is going to end this drama at ep 50 instead of the original 70 episodes because of the low ratings. The 120 episodes of King Gwangaeto will start right after Geunchogo.

This is just killing me. First they rerun EWG and AOW, the two series I most wanted to see, and now they're heading into the one series I always hoped they'd make--and we STILL don't have any sign of KBS coming back to Chicago. This is really getting aggravating.

This is really getting aggravating. My sympathies ajk....my sympathies....From what Bo said, the Korean channel died out in Chicago Considering that the subs are taking way too long to come out, I'm just going to wait for several episodes to come out, even if it takes months to come out. Don't even bother recommending KBS World, because I'm in no position to access it. I also have the option of watching it without subs. I could do that, and I'll be able to decipher what they're saying through my limited Korean and their actions, though I'll have trouble understanding entirely. Then again, I saw Immortal Yi Soon SHin and EMperor of the Sea without subtitles entirely, though in that case I had my parents to help understand what was going on.

Just to clear the record - the channel did not die out - KBS pulled ALL of their programming due to a contract dispute with the channel. From what we have been told, KBS insisted on WOCH paying three times the current fee to keep KBS programs. Our small channel did not have the financial ability to do that so KBS just summarily pulled the shows - we were in the middle of Love and Obsession at that time - Kudos to KBS for learning how to be a big capitalist corporation with no regard for anyone but their own bottom line. I've watched Dong Yi and Yi San - and loved both of them - so I haven't missed KBS very much . . and I refuse to pay them to watch shows I can view on dramafever or mysoju free - I have a lot of patience - I can wait until then to see a K-drama free. ;D

Episodes 19 and 20: . . . . . . . . . . . Ahhh, they were attacking two different cities. I thought they were just attacking at two different gates. (Doh! That explains why they made two signs.) So, did they make a bet as to who could capture his fort first? Is that why Blood Brother & Co. were so upset when they saw the signal? Did Warrior Girl overhear Blood Brother and Fan Man plotting YeoGu's demise? So far we've seen top knots being lopped off and hands being ceremoniously slit open. Now Blood Brother cuts of some of his and his sister's hair. Was Brother reminding her of her duty to Buyeo and it's revival? A pledge to get their country back at any cost, even if it means she has to tear herself away from YeoGu? (Geez, she's practically stalking the poor guy). What was in all the letters that our guys sent out all over? Who's the new character that Evil Brother #3 and Adopted Son are getting chummy with? Maybe Evil Brother #1 isn't so bad after all. (Has Brother #2 stopped drinking yet? Has Brother #5 gone into therapy?) Why is the Gugoryeo king always getting so angry at YeoHwa? Who's the Gugoryeo woman who is always trying to get YeoHwa into trouble? Why don't subs magically appear?

(Has Brother #2 stopped drinking yet? Has Brother #5 gone into therapy?) Why is the Gugoryeo king always getting so angry at YeoHwa? Who's the Gugoryeo woman who is always trying to get YeoHwa into trouble? Why don't subs magically appear? Yes, they made a bet as to who could capture the fort first. Wi Birang(the blood brother) was upset because the loser has to become the winner's subject. They didn't keep their promise though. Yes, the Wi Hongrang(the warrior girl) overheard the plotting of YeoGu's demise. Yes, the part about cutting sister's hair is exactly as you said. Gu's letter was sent to all the Buyeo people living across China who are either living as slaves or low-cost workers after the demise of their homeland. The letter urged the Buyeo people to come join the Buyeo liberation army. That would only help Wi Birang, but Gu had no choice because there are not much Baekjae people in China. The new character that San and Hae Gun are getting chummy with is a general of the Chinese Zhao dynasty, whom I do not know how to spell in Chinese pronounciation. Chan is only doing all that so he can be the next king. He doesn't care about his grandpa nor Gu. Grandpa still doesn't like him, which is why he didn't want to meet him. But Chan pushed all the guards and came inside the house anyway. Hwi(Bro #2) hasn't stopped drinking yet. I have no idea what happend to Mong(Bro #5). Sayu(Goguryeo King) is always angry at YeoHwa, because he found out about her ex-boyfriend Gu. The Goguryeo woman is just a maid. I think she doesn't like YeoHwa because she's from Baekjae.

Comcast have KBS WORLD on the basic cable package ,though i do not know if they offer it in the Chicago Area . Like if i lived in LA we would get MBC America offered too ,but as we are LA's ugly stepchild we just get the one .
We just finished Ep 6 ,If this keeps going at the same level it is at now ,it could be one of the best historical's to date .
I love the music score as well ,its really haunting and powerful .

The actor for the grandpa Sir Heuk Gang(Seo In Suk, well known for his former part of Gyun Hwon in EWG) has been arrested for assaulting a taxi driver. He was coming home on a taxi after attending Ahn Jae Mo(the actor who plays Gu's advisor Jin Seung)'s wedding.

Episodes 21 and 22: . . . . . . . . . . . . . What was in the letter that Yeo Hwa gave to Wi Hong Rang for Yeo Gu, and what message did Hae Gun replace it with?
Sayu sure needs an anger management class doesn't he? What's he so angry about now that has his ministers in such a tizzy?
Looks like two men of note and their soldiers have joined the good guys' cause, even if the food's not to their liking. Am I mixing up faces, or does one of them have the royal seal of Buyeo? And does Wi Bi Rang know he has it?
Still so confusing about succession in Baekje. I thought part of the deal for Gye to become king was that Chan would continue to be Crown Prince. Did king change his mind? Because in Ep 22 it looked like Chan was being made CP again, much to Mun's and other family members' dismay.
Are Gu and BiRang blood brothers or aren't they? Because if they are, it seems to me BiRang would have to be a real slimeball (even worse than Evil Brother #3) to be secretly planning to have him done away with.
