@ Mango I also understand Korean but I think he didn't let Yeohwa know because basically the wiryegun and Geunchogo are enemies now as they are trying to have her nephew be the next King. Yeogu made Hongran adopt him despite her protest because of the ugly rumor around the time that Yeohwa was pregnant with Sayu's baby. It didn't help when the doctor said that the baby was born full-term when it was a premature baby. I think Yeogu made Hongran adopt him so that those rumors don't come up again.
@ Anette I still like Hongran despite her shortfalls but at least they show she is human. I also think she understands him more than Yeohwa does because she provides emotional support when he needs it especially in Liaoxi. I am also fine with the character's portrayal. I watched Dong Yi but there were times she overacted especially in the beginning. The main draw for me in Dong Yi was her relationship with the King and Jin Ji Hee's portrayal as the King. He was hilarious and had so much charm.
@dyc I also thought she rocked that episode.
@ Gracien Smarmy Hogwash? LOL
I like the Baekje armor but for some reason whenever I see the Gorgoryo armour I think of pajamas. Probably because it covers the whole leg.

@ mango I used to watch at Dramacrazy or my soju but now I just download raw video and subtitles separately and watch them together because I am not a fan of advertisements and all those pop-ups at dramacrazy and missing links at mysoju.

I would go as far as to say without Hongran this drama may have been in trouble ,she is great so outspoken and a real force ,compare her with Yeohawa who has that ''Id rather be anywhere else but here look".
The actress who plays Yeohwa being Kim Ji Soo has a huge fan base though the reason escapes me why ,anyway they are up in arms at KBS .For what reason i do not know .

shiku - Did the issue of who Sekobi's real father come up during the deathbed conversation between Geunchogo and Gogugwon? No. Another reason for Hongran adopting Sekobi was because Sekobi saved her son's life

Watched ep 45 subbed. If Hae Geon wanted to kill Yeohwa's baby why didn't he leave the baby in his room when he had the Jin clan coming? He surely knew they would kill the baby if they had a chance. Although I sympathize with Yeohwa, did she really expect Yeogu to give up Liaoxi for her?

shiku - I think Yeohwa was already in a panic state...and perhaps she was hoping to appeal to Yeogu's "fatherly side". As she said, she could stomach his previous decisions, wherein he neglected her in favor of Baekje. But abandoning her "child" is a different matter. She's kindda at her rope's end and has about had it. Likewise, I agree with Truth. The writers are so inconsistent.

At least its not all over the place like DJY or Empress ,Still it shows a steady decline on the part of KBS i do not know why they cannot get back to doing dramas like EWG, AOW ,IYSS.

Is there a new chairman in KBS? In some cases if there's a new chairman a studio will decline in quality. I also think the Korean wave may have something to do with it.
I think the biggest problem with this series is that it doesn't focus enough on Geunchogo's conquests. I mean, that's what he's famous for, right? What holds it back for me is the cliche internal strife and cliche crown prince matter. I don't find it hard to believe that stuff did happen, such as tensions between the bloodline of King Goi and King Chogo; these things are pretty common throughout the history of royal families. But it really gets tiring after a while.
I'm not sure what to think of Kam Woo Sung's performance as Geunchogo. Its not bad, but nothing memorable. He looks bored. I guess the idea is that he has to be stern for he is a king, but I don't know...I can't quite put my finger to it... Yeohwa has been reduced to nothing more but a device in my eyes.
I miss Han Jin Hee and the guy who played Biryu.

Its silly because one of the first things the real Geunchogo did was end all that inter clan strife .
But the reel Geunchogo for some reason cannot.

Oh that's right, one of the first things the real Geunchogo did was lessen the aristocrats power.

Just watched the raw EP 57. Can anyone tell me what transpired between Yeohwa and Sekobi? Did she not acknowledge him as her son?
