It took a while but finally we have a YH reference to a favorite K-drama topic--conception dreams. On August 2, sasami wrote, regarding Han-soon, "I think she is pregnant. Since she is always so tired...Mi-ryung might be a little upset that her mom is pregnant (less attention for her) and she isn't." Wow, sasami, you could see the signs 4 years before the event! If you felt that way then, how about now? All this really makes it look like the flash-forward was a spur-of-the-moment idea, doesn't it? Or, does someone out there believe MR really is the mother-to-be? On second thought, maybe the two peaches represent a baby each for mother and daughter. A crossover conception dream?

I was thinking the fatigue Han-soon was having might be part of the mysterious illness she had earlier that either hasn't been diagnosed yet, or has returned. My other thought was that she might be having "sympathy symptoms" of Mi-ryung's pregnancy, even though that pregnancy is only speculative at the moment (don't they have EPTs in Seoul?). There are jokes about expectant father's sometimes having "sympathy symptoms" of pregnancy, i.e. morning sickness, cravings, faintness, etc., but I could see Han-soon being prone to such hypochondria. As for the peach dream, I don't know. I took a little psychology back in my college days, and it sure sounds more like a sexual dream than a "conception dream" to me. But I know everyone wants to keep this board clean, so I won't elaborate! Jade

So what do you think, ladies, are there really such dreams, or are they just old wives' tales? I can see it could happen to the one who conceives, but if it happens to a relative of the conceiver, as it apparently often does in Korea, that's a bit of a stretch.

Well I had one when I was trying to get pregnant 13 years ago. I dreamt I saw a fertlized egg dividing and forming a zygote. When I awoke, I got goose bumps all over and was convinced I was pregnant. But I wasn't, as I found out not long later. But I did conceive a few months after that, so who knows? Maybe the dream is a prognosticator of things to come in the near future, not what's going on immediately. OTOH, we had been trying for some time, so it's more likely one of those law of averages kind of thing. Jade

Hey, Jade, you may stumbled upon a new twist to the conception dream concept that hasn't yet been tried by our durama writers. It's no less believable than a mother having one for her daughter. And a microscopic-view dream you had, as well!
