Mon. 8/11 episode:
Min-joo and Sang-min at adoption agency, meeting the baby they can adopt if all goes well. They both appear happy to interact w/ her and the counselor and foster mother look pleased. The counselor suggests they take one week to think it over, and if they're still interested, they can take the baby home. MJ and SM agree.
Outside the agency, MJ suggests they sit down somewhere to talk a little, so they cross the street to a bench and sit down. They are both very emotional from the meeting. MJ wipes her eyes and says she didn't expect to react this way. SM agrees and says he didn't either. They seem sad that they'll never have their own baby, but also feel very emotional about the baby they may adopt, and meeting her.
Ja-young is out walking. She calls Young-joon on his cell phone and tells him she wants to see him. They meet in a cafe. She tells him she knows the crib is from him and lets him know she's unhappy he went against her wishes to stay out of their lives. He reacts angrily and expresses fury that she denies him the simple right to congratulate her on her new baby. She tells him because of his engagement and his grandmother's feelings, his actions are improper. He snaps at her that his engagement is broke and asks sardonically if she's happy now. She sits quietly a minute, looking pained, then says she accepts the gift of the crib gratefully. But then she adds after a quiet moment that she has something else of his to return...the money for the hospital bill he paid. She takes an envelope out of her purse and leaves it on the table, then gets up and starts to leave the cafe. YJ stews for a second, then snatches up the envelope, rushes after her, grabs her by the arm to stop her and shoves the envelope at her, saying sharply, "Don't insult me this way!", then storms out.
JY walks the streets sadly and looking lost emotionally. She looks up and spies a sign for a hair and makeup studio and goes in. She sits in a chair and orders the stylist to cut her hair short, and the stylist complies.
YJ stands by his parked car and looks out miserably on the river. Camera shots alter back and forth between JY getting her hair snipped short while weeping quietly and YJ staring out at the river.
Na-young leaves school; she calls Ki-hoon on his cell phone -- he's at his family's home and is stretched out reading. He looks at his caller ID, then snaps his phone shut. He won't talk to her. She calls back and text messages him that he's to call her back in 10 mins. or he's dead. He ignores the message. She TMs again to say you won't even call me to hear I got 100 on my exam? He sits straight up, grins and looks thrilled. He almost calls her back, but then stops himself and says, "No" and puts the phone back. He's going to stick to his resolve to cut her out of his life.
NY goes home and sulks, then goes into the kitchen to share her good news about her test score w/ grandma, but grandma is too pre-occupied by baby crying for his dinner and rushes out of kitchen to tend to him, ordering Mi-ryung to get his formula ready. MR asks NY what her good news is, but grandma hollers at her to hurry w/ the baby's formula and NY says she'll tell her later and looks sulky.
JY comes home with short hairdo, looking emotionally drained. All of them are inside together, sitting around the baby on the floor. JY says she's settled on a name for the baby: Ji-min. Grandma approves. JY says she'll be registering the baby's birth the next day and will be putting him under her name. Grandma agrees, but looks very sad. She says they will all raise the baby together as a family and will raise him well.
JY goes to birth registration office and fills out forms for the birth certificate.
MJ and SM shop for baby things; they buy oodles of stuff to fill their car. SM says they should tell his father so he doesn't find out after the baby is home and he gets offended.
JY returns to her office and is greeted joyously by her male and female colleagues she hasn't seen in a few months. She says she's reactivated her work assignment and will be in the office tomorrow to resume work. She goes out for a drink w/ her male supervisor and levels w/ him about why she was really away (having a baby) and says she's sorry she had to lie. He registers shock but seems basically understanding.
Back in the office, he tells Joo-yun he's unhappy she kept the truth from him, but Joo-yun makes out like this is the first she's heard of a baby too and was equally surprised.
Sun-joo and her mother are at home watching TV. The mother is sewing something for the new adopted baby, soon to join their household. She tells Sun-joo she will make something for any baby she has, too...as soon as she's married and has one. SJ then gets a call on her cell phone from Joon-ha, her manager. He says he's outside her house and asks her to come out a minute. She does and he returns her lost necklace to her. He says he had the pool maintenance crew look for it when they drained the pool. She thanks him gratefully and he wishes her good night and goes home. Looking at the necklace makes Sun-joo remember TY, sadly and longingly.
JY is leaving for her first day back at work. She lifts Ji-min from his crib and cudddles him good-bye, then brings him out to grandma to care for the rest of the day.
Grandma Sohn's maid reminds YJ that it's his grandmother's birthday today, which he admits he forget. At the table for breakfast, he wishes her happy birthday and invites her out for dinner to "celebrate". She's none-too-pleased at the prospect.
JY is at work and everyone is glad to have her back. Her cheerful mood is disturbed when an email from YJ, wishing her well on her first day back, comes through on her PC. She deletes the message and frowns. In his own office, YJ is distracted from his work by the pen in his hand, which was a gift long ago from JY.
MR is bouncing baby Ji-min on her lap. Grandma warns her to remove all jewelry before touching the baby to avoid scratching him. This reminds MR that her ring is still missing, and Grandma has yet to find out and have a conniption. When she gets back to her bedroom, she calls her mother and pesters her about buying her a replacement ring. Han-soon in turn goes to Young-man's office and pesters him. Han-soon laments she pressured Grandma to buy a real diamond for MR.
Last scene is MJ and SM arriving home and getting out of their car with their new adopted baby girl.
