Watching the episode this morning, seeing Hyun-ji walking around in a world of bliss and poor Young-joon walking in a world of despair. But the part of him kissing her on the cheek and saying good night and her responding by grabbing him and kissing him on the lips just seemed a bit painful. How blind can this woman be? If she cared for him so much and love him so much, why would she want him to suffer in such a way. Seems kind of selfish.

Funny you should say that - I was actually just discussing that same issue with a friend of mine (discussing is putting it lightly I was really getting upset about it! ) After that little speech she gave Young-joon though, I decided that her relationship to him has little to nothing to do with love or caring at all. Remember she talked about 'winning at everything' and how she thought she was going to fail in love? Yeah...I get the sense that she's not particularly interested in Young-joon's well being, but rather how well SHE fared. She got the man she picked, regardless of how he feels, end of story. But don't worry, this is a Korean drama. She HAS to get what's coming to her...

All I have to say is Hyun-ji better thank God she is in Korea, because I would beat her to a bloody pulp if I had her right in front of me. *SMACK* She must really be a good actress because I get mad just at the sight of her. Another thing that got me upset and was already mentioned is her complete and total arrogance. She thinks she is so much better than everyone else. Nobody can compare to her. I can't wait until she sees what a failure she is in comparison with Ja-young and Young-joon's undying love for her. I totally agree with you all about how ignorant she is to the fact that what YJ felt for her at one time is totally over and if he is doing this is because he feels he has nothing left to lose after he lost the one thing that truly, really mattered.

Not to mention what does it mean when a man you're about to marry says it's a good idea you go live halfway around the world, even if you only see each other once or twice a year?
Of course, she wasn't having any of it, but the fact that she would let this "suggestion" pass by w/o examination says a lot about how oblivious she is to what she's getting...a man who has about as much passion for the woman he's about to marry as a vegetarian does for a 15 oz. sirloin steak.
She's about as pathetic as they come. What self-respecting woman would accept a man on such terms?
It's especially incongrous considering they lived together for months in the US. Presumably, they were intimate many, many times. Now it's a kiss on the cheek and good night before they retire to separate rooms? I realize they're in his grandmother's house, but it's hard to understand why she isn't asking him why he hasn't suggested they get a hotel room now and then.
She is blind...but by choice. She chooses not to see, and to look the other way at Young-joon's obvious indifference to her, and his complete lack of enthusiasm to the idea of being married to her. It's impossible to feel any sympathy for her because her standards are so deplorable.
