How far? I suppose we'll find out tomorrow morning (since it seemed to take place during the comercial break).
A few days ago, I saw a calendar for March in the background, and now it is the height of Summer. Jae-young is now in her eighth(?) month, but I hadn't been keeping track of how far along she was.
As the days go on, I'm sure we'll find all sorts of things have happened. I wonder if Mi-ryung ever found the ring, for example? Did Ki-hoon ever apologize? Has Sun-joo found romance?
Stay tuned . . .

According to the screenplay, JY's Grandma's train trip is at the end of August, which is just about right since they say the baby is due in about a month and it was presumably conceived last December so is due in September.
The only thing that happened during the commercial break was that YJ came home drunk and announced that he and JY had broken up. So far as I can tell there is no missing engagement scene. You just have to imagine the kind of stuff that has gone on in the intervening 2 months or so.

It does seem to me w/ some of this fast-forwarding, a few plots have been left behind...like the whereabouts of the wedding ring, was it replaced, did Ki-hoon and Na-young make up? I'm pretty sure Mi-ryung lost her ring while making the rice. That can only be the point of the scene restored yesterday morning in which she was making it. I was positive we'd see a scene w/ one of them -- most likely Tae-young --- biting down on a spoonful of leftover rice and cracking a tooth. But now w/ the timeline jumping forward a couple of months, that can't be possible. Unless it was cut out in today's ep, it seems this is a dropped plot. Perhaps we will hear something more about it in an upcoming ep.
I feel sad that Na-young was so dismissive of Ki-hoon at the pizza place. I thought it was extremely cute and a sign of his real devotion that he wore that picket sign and swore in public he would only look at her from now on. I don't know why she has to be so hard-hearted...it's obvious she does have real feelings for him, and he for her.

You just have to imagine the kind of stuff that has gone on in the intervening 2 months or so. The scene was restored in this morning's ep. I knew at once when I rewound the tape that we would get an uncut ep. because I had set the VCR to begin recording at 8:20 and when I rewound to zero, YH came on immediately. In Korea, the full ep. is about 35 mins. and that's how long this morning's ran. We first see Young-joon in the usual watering hole he goes to to drowned his sorrows. He picks up his cell phone and calls Grandma's driver, asking him to pick him up "at the same place as last time" (which I found a very funny touch). Next, we see the driver helping him into Grandma Sohn's home. He tells his grandmother that she should be very happy now, having succeeded in breaking him and Ja-young up, and his words and tone are extremely bitter, for which I can't blame him. He then goes up to his old room, flops on the bed and sobs quietly again, lying on his back. One thing I really admire about these Korean dramas...they are not in any way afraid to show men cry...as we've seen all the male cast do ocasionally. Jade Eyes

Today, they made reference to it being the begining of Autumn. The timeline in Korea has always been in advance of Chicago, but now they are in even their own future!

Apparently the two young lovebirds stayed mad at each other until after the tv cameras came back into their lives.

Today, they made reference to it being the begining of Autumn. The timeline in Korea has always been in advance of Chicago, but now they are in even their own future! Not only that, but if it really is Sept. 21 (and I have no reason to believe the Koreans have a different meterological calendar than N. America), then it's not possible the baby is 4 wks. early. I know the first ep. supposedly took place just before Christmas because I remember it begins w/ a scene of Ja-young shopping for the holidays (I saw it on soompi and read a recap of it). Sang-min is getting cozy w/ Min-joo at the same time, and begins to distance himself from Ja-young, avoiding her and giving her the brush-off. He breaks up w/ her shortly thereafter to be w/ Min-joo. Which means Sang-min and Ja-young were not intimate after that. Which means the absolute latest the baby could've been conceived was right before Christmas. Which means its due date would've been right around Sept. 21--the date Sang-min says it is in tonight's ep. So this baby could not be a preemie, and would not require an incubator. In fact, even if it was 4 wks. early, it would not be likely to need an incubator. A baby 4 weeks early would be approx. 5-6 lbs. on average...plenty big to thrive well outside the womb and not require an incubator. But I'm glad to see Ja-young is getting the best medical care the Korean healthcare system has to offer...she has a refrigerator and humidifier in her room...the basic standard-of-care for a Korean hospital! I thought she was a month and a half premature. Or was there another flash forward after the scene in which I heard that?

So, you’re verifying the calendar dates as the show progresses? Wow, you really are YH fanatics! Pretty interesting observation, though. I do recall that Sang-min and Ja-young split right around Christmas, so yes, the baby’s arrival is right on schedule. Funny the writers didn’t notice this. Oh, BTW, the issue of the missing wedding ring? It will return soon in a future episode, but it’s really just a minor aside (just more embarrassment for Mi-ryung and her poor mother – but are you surprised)? Mikey
