Near the end, one of the Governor's aides came and told him that His Majesty had asked for Bo-Go's daughter's hand. It went by so fast that I didn't get what he meant. Did the Emperor want to marry Bo-Go's adopted daughter?? Before we could learn if Bo-Go had even been asked, we find out the "King is dead".
Maybe they'll explain in next week's opening, but I find myself wondering why they can gloss over important plot transitions in a sentence or two (killing the King) without even a scene to illustrate, but show us every angle of whoever might be taking the latest ship somewhere.
And I still notice how anyone, (Lady Jami in this case) could easily step through the bars of the jail cells. When she made her appeal to Yeom Jang we could almost see her shoulder to shoulder as she faced him through the bars. I suppose the jails are so heavily guarded that she couldn't go anywhere even if she did escape the cell, but the design still looks idiotic to me.
With only one episode to go, I hope they don't rush it through leaving us with more questions than answers.

Astute observation about the jail 'bars' ... What in the world is with the writers to drop the 'hand in marriage' comment and within moments declare that the king is dead. I share a concern that the last episode is going to be a series of flashbacks and occurrences that will be fleeting visuals along with contemporary lyrical music. At the end we'll be asking ourselves what happened?! Any idea of what might follow EOS?

We recorded EOTS that week, so when that request about the 'hand in marriage' came on, we got to rewind it 4+ times and re-read it until we understood it. Here is what he meant... the Emperor wanted Jang Bo-Go's adopted daughter's hand in marriage for his son. He wasn't going to marry her himself.
Funny you should mention about the jail bars, zorro... my mother commented on that fact herself. Jami didn't need to sit in there weeping; she could've just slipped right through! ;D Not that Bo-Go would've let her escape so easily...

Concerning Lady Jami walking through the bars, I awoke at 3 this morning, turned on channel 41 and it was a repeat of EOTS. from Sunday. Lady Jami was walking into the sea to kill herself. Did I miss something on Sunday night, I don't remember that scene? The rest of the episode was the same. If they did cut it on Sunday it was kind of important.

That's odd. It must've been a cut scene, or--- are you sure that it was the same episode?? I would think that they would've shown something like that! But then I suppose I should bide my patience and wait for today's episode, lol.

gpaul, I'm afraid you might be right, LJ wasn't even mentioned in ep 50. That's a major editing error in my estimation. She was a lead character who I would imagine many of us wanted to see get her "come-uppence". Even as you described it seems vague and incongruent for all the trouble she caused. And just how did she make her way out to the sea anyway… by walking through the jail bars when no one was looking??

Since it looks like you are up through Episode 50, is it OK for me to try to answer the question about how Madam Jami got out of jail? In regard to the jail bars - perhaps the jails were designed to hold big brawny men, not women who subcribe to the notion that "A woman can never be too rich or too thin".

I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY CUT OFF SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART FROM EPISODE 49!!!!! I just saw this episode again on mysoju, and this is what happens: Junghwa asks BogoJang to spare Lady Jami's life, claiming that she has already lost everything. so BogoJang speaks to LJ and tells her that she will be escorted to some harbor where a ship will be waiting to take her to china. when she walks out she sees Junghwa and doesnt' even thank her, but tells her to move out of the way and not humiliate her any longer. she goes back to her house and sees her servant (the one annoying guy who never ever dies, and has an even more annoying sidekick) walking away with the governor and all her money. at which point she does walk into the ocean, and I assume kills herself. so what else did they cut off!!!! why would they do that when we obviously all wanted to know what was going to happen to LJ?

It was just a passing thought, but is it possible that the station censored her assumed suicide to avoid giving any such ideas to impressionable viewers? It is said that the number of suicides increase during this time of the year! Just my two cents

;D I know that it is always said and assumed that this time of year the suicide rate increases. EXCEPT according to the latest statistics that I read on yahoo news, that is NOT true. I don't know where ANY of these statistics come from so I'm not taking sides LOL . . just mentioning it . . I think I'll check out the Mayo Clinic site and see what they say . . in the meantime - EVERYBODY STAY HAPPY - PLEASE . . . ;D I don't think we have to worry too much about anyone walking into Lake Michigan . . at least not now when it's in a rather SOLID STATE. . .

Thanks for your recap Alexa.
Leaving that scene out is inexcusable. Like you ask, what else have we been missing??
