In the past couple of months, WMBC has been airing 1 ad during YAMD, but last nite they interrupted the show at least 4 times !! What' s up with that (as my son would say) ??

Sorry door60, most of us in the Chicago metro area view the K-dramas on WOCH-CH 41; they do have commercials but really not too many; compared to ALL of the networks, WOCH is very conservative in how many commercials they show during the airing of an episode. I take it the channel you are referring to is on the East Coast??? Is it an Asian broadcasting network affiliate? Try writing them a letter, it might jog them into better scheduling of commercials . . or not . . . LOL Good luck ;D

So, NY/NJ k-drama fans, I called WMBC today to find out why they had so many commercial interuptions last nite, and apparently that will be the norm from now on. ( I threatened to just tape the show, so that I did not have to watch the commercials, but my lone complaint will not do it), so if you have the inkling, call them and complain about all those horrible interuptions!

Did you also experience interference Sunday night during MDU? The visual was jumpy, no sound, going black from time to time, and virtually unwatchable until the last 5 mins.
I watch on WMBC out of Newton, NJ. And yes, four commercials last nite but the entire length of the show was the same. I wonder if it's being edited and we're missing some parts of it.
They have a website with a "Contact US" tab. I've written to them before and always got a reply. I'll do it again, complain and ask why. Maybe they know K dramas are hot and plan to add more. (She said hopefully.)

Puppy, I did not experience bad reception during MDU I called WMBC today -- I didn't notice their e-mail address, but I will look again, and write too. I also noticed that the length of yesterday's YAMD was the same despite all those nasty commercials. You have a point, what if we are missing some of the show ??!!! I would LOVE more k-drama, so if they add more shows in lieu of commercials, I will grin and bear it.

I am technologically challenged -- I don't even know what device you need to DVR, or even what it is!

I only watch now and then and the episodes I've seen in full show a commercial at 9:30 usually, so I really don't know what's going on.

door60, I know that wmbc is both a cable station and a free station. This past week, the cable station wmbc is also being known as KBN, (Korean Broadcasting Network) operating out of New Jersey.
I wonder if this is the reason you are now seeing commercials on your free station. In my NYC area, that station is channel 20. I'll watch it tonight to see if there are any commercials. That is an extremely tight timeslot and it's hard to imagine how they're now putting in commercials.
I just realized something else, YAMD is a KBS drama being aired on an MBC network. In fact, all the dramas that have even been shown on that station belong to KBS, so I'm confused as to how the Korean stations operate.
puppy, what you have experienced is what happens on KBS only. In my post on the last episode of the Great King Sejong, for 1 hour the screen was black except for the station logos. The picture used to come in crystal clear and recently it's just been going haywire.
Also, could you and brooklyn pm me with the contact information that you used? I've never been able to find the correct phone number or receive any response via e-mail from this station.

I'm sorry, Bijan, but I don't have the contact info for them either. I had an email address back in the Summer of 2006 but it told me the message was unable to be delivered so I discarded it from then.

If all else fails, you could google FCC.GOV and see if they can give you contact information. After all, they are the regulatory gov't agency, they should have that information. Good luck . . we have commercials here on CH41, but I don't find them as onerous as the ones on the Networks or what truly irks me, is the programs on CABLE that we pay to watch having one commercial after another. That's ugly and annoying to me. No wonder I watch CH 41 here in Chicago so much . . we are so lucky to have so many varied programs with English subs - CH41 has its problems mainly with scheduling and the programs that are scheduled for 6:00 pm start anywhere from 5:40 to 6:20 - LOL - but that aggravation is a small price to pay for so much good TV . . . ;D

You may be right, Bijan, I get WMBC on Channel 10 here in Bergen County, NJ. Is that the phone number that you're looking for?

Last night, there were NO commercials in the NY area for the first time since the first month YAMD has been on.
