After Monday's episode (looks like Min-joo has to have hysterectomy), does anyone think that eventually Min-joo/Sang-min will find out that Ja-young is pregnant and that she'll give the baby up to them . . . and that way, Gramma will finally relent and let Ja-young marry her grandson after Ja-young gives birth and gives up the baby?

I don't think there's any possibility Ja-young will give the baby up to anyone willingly. If the most important object here to Ja-young was to gain grandma's approval so she can marry the man she loves, she most likely would've had the abortion, since it doesn't seem to carry the same stigma it does here in this culture. For all the complications it brings to her life, Ja-young wants this baby and is intent on having it and raising it herself. No mother who wants to keep her child would give it up voluntarily--not unless there were some enormous mitigating circumstances, i.e. she knows she can't provide a decent life for her child or the baby's/child's well-being otherwise depends on different circumstances. But it's absurd to think of Ja-young, as the character she's been established as, turning her baby over to her lousy ex and his nutjob wife out of pity. I do, however, strongly suspect a custody battle storyline is in the making. I think Sang-min will find out about the baby eventually, and unable to have children w/ Min-joo, he will sue to seek full custody. I don't know what the laws in Korea are like regarding fathers and custody...my gut tells me it's a culture heavily biased in favor of men in all things. The custody fight and mothers losing custody of their children is a long-standing favorite plot of writers of melodrama, which is why I would wager good money if I was a betting woman that the story is going in this direction. I'd like to be proved wrong because it's so overdone, it's just cliche...but YH does seem to hit so many of the melodrama stereotypes of the genre. Also, I really hate to think of Ja-young going through this...she's suffered so much already. But suffering is the plight of the melodrama protagonist, so I suspect she's in for it. I think Min Joo will find out about the baby and since she seems that jealousy wins takes her over so easily. She might not let Sang Min know about it and perhaps use it as a bargaining chip with JY. Perhaps suggest to adopt the baby and she'll help JY get Grandma's approval. But of course JY will refuse and eventually SM will find out and he'll be very mean like usual and try to get the baby.

I hate to say it, but I think JY will give up her baby to SM and MJ. **** No, Jade Eyes! Put down that knife! Let me explain! ****
I think that she will also get it back, and that SM and MJ will adopt form an agency.

There's no way writers this good would assassinate a great character like Ja-young by having her do something so totally out of character. This is NOT going to happen. Sang-min may win legal right to take the child away, but Ja-young would never simply turn her own baby over to her ex and his wife voluntarily. Why would she do this? Out of pity? Fahgeddahbahdit! I think MJ and SM are going to adopt a girl and JY will have the son. I saw some photos of this but I do think JY is in for some more suffering. I don't know how soon SM will find out about the child. I guess I was wrong about MJ kidnapping JY's child.

Angie, if you're going to discuss anything based on information you have or may have about upcoming events, please try to remember to put that post in a separate thread marked "spoiler".
A lot of fans really appreciate spoilers and they're delighted for these little tidbits. But some really don't want to know what's going to happen before it does. I think everyone deserves that choice. So please try to exercise courtesy for those purists who don't want to be "spoiled". Thanks!
I would just like to add, even if what you say is true, that doesn't rule out a future custody battle when the father learns he has a biological child out there. I haven't heard anything to that effect, but I still say it could happen.

Sometimes, when I come across a photo on KBS's Web site that seems to give away something I didn't want given away, I try to think of as many different explanations as possible, so as to remain uncertain.

i really don't think j/y will give her baby to sang min, even if or when she finds out about minjoo's tragedy( you know her not being able to have any children) she has had such a difficult time during the whole pregnancy that it would be pretty unbelievable that she would just say "here's my baby", and if for some reason sang min found out about the baby, she wouldn't let him take it away from her without a fight.
