so my fellow kdrama watchers, are you happy? do you think jiyeon is? I always got agitated watching alfred hitchcock way back cuz his shows, too, left you hanging. in this case, it makes you think about what if this happened or that. I don't want to get into detail for those of us who haven't watched the last episode yet. please let me know how you feel. :-

This was about the most disappointing ending I've ever seen. Once everyone has seen it, I'm sure there will be an army of unhappy people like me. More later. :/

Disappointing! I felt that jyeon only got to gether with junho out of pressure from all the families and for her daughter, not because she wanted to. so that is how it ended? they get back together nd plan to go to the usa, and then taesop is injured and she runs out.?! That is the end? i was confused then let down.. what is replacing this drama again? it looks like everyone is happy about the new change and jyeon looks just going to through the motions..

The only redeeming part of this story was the little girl and boy. I became so sick of Jiyeon playing the martyr. What a major creep for becoming so angry with her little girl for mistakenly calling Teasop. All that hitting .. and then "I'm sorry." Then after a night of drinking she decides 'ok, I'll come back to you' ... then runs out when she hears the news about Teasop being in critical condition. What an airhead. Life is full of situations where decision making doesn't equate being happy. You do what is the right thing and in time, while you will never be wildly 'happy' there is a measure of contentment when a decision is made for the greater good, i.e., someone else's betterment - in this case her very sweet little girl. For 3 years Junho was faithful to her both in body and spirit. Get over it, Jiyeon. I know this opinion will prompt criticism ... ... this story should have ended long ago.

Well said Kathleen.
I stopped watching a long time ago, and started reading the spoilers, which is how I learned about the ending. But I thought I would watch the last ep just to see for myself how "bad" it really was.
Since I lost all sympathy for Jiyeon, I really didn't care which way she went. Arguments for both men could have been made, it's just too bad the kids had to suffer.
Let's hope the next drama is more to our liking.

I stopped watching when Byeonggyu said to Jisuk, "If they kill us, we're dead". That was the defining moment the show jumped the shark for me. *Click*, off went the TV, and A Happy Woman was exchanged for Happy Hour. Not a bad trade! Kathleen, you couldn't have said it better when you mentioned Jiyeon constantly playing the martyr. I got tired of that rather quickly, and I got annoyed by Junho's relentless moping as well. In retrospect, they deserved each other. The Martyr and the Mope. All in all, I'm thrilled it's over, because this drama was, IMO, about 58 episodes longer than it should have been, and it's getting really hard to find $3 Guinness pints so close to the holiday season. That said, let's hope channel 41 brings us a good drama in time for Christmas

The frosting on your cake: [shadow=red,left,300]The Martyr and the Mope[/shadow] - too, too funny. If they kill us, we will be dead. That's right up there with 'stategery'. Unlike oil, let's hope the $3 Guinness drops a little now .. or we might have to have a bake sale to keep your happy hour going.

I thought that it would be difficult to top the hanging ending of "My Sweetheart, My Darling", but this by far topped the list.

I don't believe this. I had my whole post done & I lost it. well here I go again... I had read a spoiler a while back when someone mentioned the 'not so ended' ending & claiming no closure for a few of the ones i've listed below, but I see it this way...almost all the characters had some point of direction. jiyeon's best friend & mr seo will be married. both 'chuhuahua' lady & jisuk are finally getting civil towards each other. (I still can't believe Beo. tricked the both of them to share the movie date. that made me laugh). jiyeon's other sis & sis' husband are expanding the family's kimchi bus., successfully so far. junho's bro & his wife are now expecting & she has lost a lot of her snootiness. even junho's mother has changed & apologized to both jiyeon & her elders. eunji also gave ex-MIL a kiss! sadly, but rightly taesop is speaking to his mom. it was really nice to see all 3 guys, taesop, his dad & son fishing & making stew at the waterside, but... ...I felt bad for the 2 children. taesop's son & eunji really hit it off. also he wanted a mom. at least if taesop doesn't make it, his son will have loving grandparents to care for him. now for jiyeon. I came in just after junho had his accident, at that stage of the drama, I felt for her. then 3 yrs later, her ex & all of his family are pulling eunji back n 4th, I still felt for her. she gave them no resistance at 1st. then it went too far. it seemed they would cheat, lie & STEAL eunji ! forcing jiyeon to have her stay there for a month after taking her. the way ex-MIL handled it, I still felt for jiyeon. now, junho's family has changed so much & has so much pressure on her from all ends. I know I wouldn't be over taesop yet & to re-marry when you don't love him. I believe after some time she would or could have gone back, but in this case I don't believe it had to be when everyone else decided. now as for her deciding to do so now, I know it was due to the pressure for eunji's sake. jiyeon running out to see taesop, well don't forget, she didn't end it due to lack of love... "through the eyes of Brenda Joyce", IMO

I thought that it would be difficult to top the hanging ending of "My Sweetheart, My Darling", but this by far topped the list. i compared the same two dramas! except that inyoung only divorced kijoon because she could not have kids and his mom told her she would get a suregate.(that was a mom in law from HELL!!) i think that is how it went.. that ending was not as bad as this... at the end of that one her dreams finally come true, she is pregnant and meets kijoon again..

It was the worst ending I've ever seen too. But, at least I was ready for it. (I read the spoilers in advance)
They should have just ended with Jiyeon and Junho (with Eunji)boarding a plane to the United States. At least that would have given us some closure.

you said it singer! another thing that gets me is, junho had his ticket refunded & never mentioned going to the states, yet jiyeon & others mentioned to him about going to the states soon. some even assumed he would go w/jiyeon & eunji. either way, he never responded, he didn't even mention the refund.

Take heart--- Taesop lives. I'm watching him play the role of a lawyer in the drama "Tomato". However, truth be told, Tomato was filmed before Happy Woman. Even knowing that, it's good to see him on the screen, alive and well.
