CCH's mom looks terrible in her old makeup.
Lotus is ageless, She looks the same as when we met her over 30 years ago.

Here you go ID,
SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 154
The show started out with the return of Kangjong, the old Crown Prince, as the new Emperor. No ceremony was shown. The change to the new emperor was remarkably casual. A few characters asked CCH whether he thought that this emperor could be trusted and CCH even brought the subject up with the emperor at one point. But the emperor genuinely has no desire for revenge. He's 60. He actually gave up the administrative responsibilities to CCH. According to the narrator, the committee that was formed to investigate the attempt on CCH and Woo's lives became the administrative center of power at this point.
Woo asks CCH what he is going to do about Lotus. It turns out that Lotus was conspiring with the babyfaced emperor by warning CCH about the eunuchs. It was a "boy who cried wolf" ploy to convince him that he was being paranoid for listening to rumors about the emperor plotting against him.
CCH gets pissed at Woo for asking and tells him that he is no longer in favor. Hyang tries to tell Woo not to be bothered by it because their father just has a sore spot concerning Lotus. Woo accuses Hyang of being happy that he has an in to take the leadership of the clan.
CCH is prepared to forgive Lotus, but she gives a speech about how she wants him to return to the great cause. He gets pissed at her and tells her that he never wants to see her again.
Woo seeks Lord Chung's council about dealing CCH. Lord Chung says that CCH is just testing him.
CCH gets drunk and talks to himself about how Chung-su, Jin Jae, Manjok and Lotus betrayed him. That he has to realize the great enterprise alone. Hyang comes in and tells CCH that he wants to leave military service. CCH asks if it was Woo's idea. Even thought Hyang says no CCH summons Woo to ht estate.
CCH has Woo tied to the whipping post. He whips Woo personally and demands that he ask forgiveness for creating strife with his brother. Woo insists that he is innocent of any wrongdoing.
Suk-Soong and Yag-Jin come into the whipping yard. When they ask CCH what is going on he warns them not to interfere or he will whip them. Suk-soong says that the clan's enemies will be happy to hear that CCH is whipping his heir. Yag-Jin says that Woo has learned his lesson but when CCH asks Woo to confess, Woo still insists that he did nothing wrong so CCH continues to whip him.
Finally, Hyang steps up and tells CCH that Woo is innocent. Hyang says that he wants to leave the military because he is afraid of power. He used to be sure that CCH would realize the great cause and be revered. But instead he killed his brother and Jin Jae is only feared. Hyang wants to avoid power so there wont be problems for him and Woo.
CCH says that he does want to look at either of them and walks off. After Woo is untied, Hyang tries to help him walk but Woo says that he doesn't want help from such a wuss.
Suk-Soong tells CCH that he should be proud of his sons. Woo was strong enough to maintain his innocence while being whipped and Hyang is full of compassion. Either would be a good choice to lead the clan. CCH says that he would agree if it were any other clan. But the leader of the Woobong's is the leader of the country. If he is as unyielding as Woo, he will make too many enemies. If he is as compassionate as Hyang, he will not be ruthless enough. He wishes they were more like Choong-su and Jin Jae.
A conspiracy is formed to bring down CCH by causing problems between him and his son. A band of men set fire to his house. Then anonymous posters are found blaming Woo in the conspiracy.
Jaunson comes back to the imperial city now that Lotus is gone. She meets with Woo and tells him that she has heard about the problems between him and his father. She says that she will talk to CCH on his behalf. Woo says that if she does so then she will never have to worry when he is in charge. He puts his hand on her hand in a reassuring gesture. Just then CCH walks in and stops stunned. He pulls out his sword and yells "You bastard!" (which is a funny thing for a father to yell at a son) Freeze Frame.

Yeah, Aging Warrior, the old Crown Prince looked so realistically, so authentically much older! I was taken aback at hearing that fourteen years had passed! I always am when the passing of time is mentioned on the show. I remember I used to be confused if the crown prince played himself when real young - when he was married to Ui-bang's daughter. Was that a different actor back then? Hate to say it, but I think CCH's mom, Matron Noh, has been looking terrible for awhile! And for some reason, I don't find Lotus as pretty as I used to. She looks tired to me or it's that she wears an unflattering color of lipstick or something! I haven't noticed if Hyang talks funny - only that he's soft-spoken. Poor sensitive Bambi Hyang. He just wants to be a scholar or a monk. I think he's so adorable. Doesn't anyone else have a crush on him? By the way, isn't his hair shorter now?

i don't want to offend any of the cch fans but he seems more ruthless and unstable with each episode. i am losing a lot of the respect i had come to have for him. he seems to be following the same path as the archfiend in some ways, but is more suspicious and paranoid....he has the power and he is hanging on to it at all costs....willing to "pulverize" ANYONE who gets in his way, or anyone he THINKS is in his way. this is one dude you don't want to mess with at all.

Regarding CCH's mom, I thought she was heading for the big one a while ago. "That's it, Choong hon. You've brutalized my 27th victim/relative! I'm coming, Elizabeth! This is it, I'm really going". She must have found the leftover makeup from Grandmama Addams' beauty stash.

I agree, luvarchfiend. My beloved CCH has become unstable. He's losing his touch. it isn't a pretty sight is it eowyn? i think he has cracked under the pressure of staying in power, the attempts on his life, the lives he has taken (especially choong su, jinjae and manjok), and as i mentioned before the suspicion and paranoia that has taken control of his mind.

one thing that disturbs me is that he decided ot eliminate lord chung over night, because of that wretched witch jaunsun. lord chung is perhaps the most loyal man to cch. and though i am anti-choi, i respect lord chung for his brains, and calm behavior. i couldn't believe that he calmly explained to woo that "your father is wary of me" and with a smile on his face, chung said "i will either die on the battlefield, or die after i return to the imperial city"
i couldn't believe that woo didn't do anything.
though this has nothing to do with anything, i wonder that if in my past life, I was Kim Chun, the man who destroyed the Ch'oe Clan. And this is why i hate the ch'oe clan so much.

cch is so suspicious of everyone now....it didn't much matter that the thought about lord chung came from the QOC , he could have heard a dog bark and seen lord chung at the same time and come to the same conclusion....that lord chung could no longer be trusted. as for woo, and don't get me wrong....i do not like him, but he doesn't have much choice but to stay out of it for his own safety. cch may not have him on the hit list yet, but he is surely on the potentials list.

( lord chung is just greedy like jauson.)
