hi i am new to this board...finally found a msg board about korean historical drama. I love age of warriors, love the characters, outfights, and it always leaves in suspense. But anyhow, i was just wondering....how long have all of you been watching historical dramas? which is your first series? Mine was Tears of the Dragon...though i didn't keep up with it that much since i got into late. My favorite series is Taejo Wang Gon, and as you can see my favorite character was King Kung Ye (Goongyae) the one eyed monk who resurected Koguryo. The worst series is probably Dawn of the Empire. Just plan old boreing. But it was nice to see the outcome of what happened after EWG.

Hi Goongyae, and welcome to the board here! I hope you didn't choose that name because your friends are afraid to cough while you're meditating!
Emperor Wang Guhn was the first show Joanie and I watched (from about #70 or so) and it's still the best we've seen, though The Great Jang-geum is very close. We agree about Dawn of the Empire - it was very formulaic and predictable compared to EWG and AOW, though it had its moments. The continuity between EWG and DOE was also very poor. For example, Doyoung (EWG's second wife) was very shrewd and pretty in EWG, and matronly and easily manipulated in DOE. And General Park?? Enough said.

Hello and welcome to the board. My first historical drama was 'Cho Kwang Jo'. My favorite series is actually 'Tears of the dragon'. I think that's been the best historical drama made so far. Emperor Wang Guhn was pretty good too.
